Go gourmet.
While everyone else in camp is gnawing on rock-hard nut-and-seed bars and snacking on cans of pickled herring, whip up something fresh and delicious with your Jetboil Genesis Stove. New to the Jetboil lineup, the Genesis isn't an all-or-nothing stove designed to flash-boil water, but a user-friendly cooker that makes whipping up an actual meal quick, easy, and efficient. Jetboil integrated an advanced simmer control, so you can bring the heat down and cook your food without scorching it, and added easy-to-clean drip trays so it won't be a big deal if you have a boil over when you're cooking up a side of rice to go with your trout. If two burners aren't quite enough to cook everything you want, a third satellite burner (sold separately) can be attached via the JetLink port. The Genesis wouldn't be a Jetboil if it wasn't compact, so Jetboil hooked it up with a collapsible design that nests inside the available five-liter pot for easy carrying and packing.

Brand new, no spark.
Spent a lot of money on this product as everyone else has and I’d expect the best. Straight out of the box on one side is sparking, obviously I can bring a light with me but incredibly frustrating considering.

Exceptional camp stove
Having the Genesis has really improved our camp meals. The versatility of having a skillet and pot that stores in a small footprint is great. The pot and pan both clean up very easily.

Get it!
Efficient and compact, this is the little stove that could. The only thing I would change is the price, even then, its still worth it and the return will outweigh any concerns I have about the upfront cost. This little fuel sipper is amazing with almost an infinite adjustability.

Best on the Market
Excellent flame and even heat output. Only flaw is the windshield is pretty much worthless because it is so flimsy

Virtually Useless
I've had about a half dozen stoves over the last two years - all of which perform terribly. However, none of the others, cost as much as the Basecamp, and none of them were as virtually useless in the wind. A lot of reviewers complain about the windscreen and the regulator. The regulator hasn’t crapped out on me yet… the windscreen is in the rubbish bin… I am going to fabricate my own windscreen and see if I can salvage this stove. As it is – we are talking about 20-30 minutes to make coffee in a percolator – meaning to boil water – and as for bacon and eggs… the eggs cook but only after warming my cast iron after a half hour or more to somewhat cook bacon. Again, I’ve tried a lot of stoves. Due to the 19mph gusts I get here in Texas this stove is useless. I’ve used it in Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming, South Dakota, and a few other places. I continue to use it because of what I paid for it – hoping to find a solution to salvage it. I am committed to fabricating my own wind screen to see if that makes this expensive hunk of junk usable. I would not recommend, and I would not buy this stove. My style of camping is overland 4x4 adventures and car camping.

Love this stove.
We’re van campers and this stove is a game changer to the old style “Coleman” camp stoves. The fact that it folds to reduce storage footprint and the infinite temp range. I’ve used this everyday for 2 weeks including at altitude. Very happy with this unit.
