    JammyPack Utility speaker

Where i live in the mountains of Tennessee i can see this coming in handy because of the lack of signal for cell phones alot of the times to be able to listen to music. I can use my MP3 Player with it .Just that being a Disabled Vet sometime hard to justify spending the 40 dollars. Sharp looking speaker and look's small enough to be able to attach it to a belt loop. I'm sure my wife could find uses for it,when every you have a sale on them so i could afford it.It's pretty cool looking tho.

      Little package, big sound

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Thanks so much to Backcountry and JammyPack for letting me try this cute little Utility Pack out to report back to all you fine folks in the backcountry.com community! First off, this thing is totally adorable and I'm a sucker for adorable. The pancho villa print is bright and festive and I love it. This thing packs some great sound in a little package; with my phone volume turned up only halfway, I could hear music all over the house and the clarity and sound were both really good! I use it with a portable rechargeable battery pack (one I have for my phone for camping). The JammyPack sips power... I used it for two hours flat out this morning and the battery was only down one bar. I plan to exhaust it fully and update but I'd imagine that I could play music for about 8 straight hours no problem on a battery that charges my phone from 0 to full charge once. You can also throw 4 AA batteries in the power pack and have a backup power source, so you could get a lot of action out of it.

A couple of improvements I'd make... this is definitely a dry weather friend. If you were to plunk the JammyPack in the snow, I think the fabric would get soaked pretty quickly. Also, I feel like most everything is bluetooth these days and I wonder why this isn't. I didn't like having my phone tethered to a speaker, so I just used it with my wee mp3 player instead and that was fine!

My verdict - it's a really cute way to haul loud, clear tunes around with you and if you plan to use it with a standalone mp3 player/ipod/etc, go for it! But if you're going to use it with your phone, go for something bluetooth unless you don't use your phone that much.
