- Q & A
Tripper 12âMade in âMerica
I bought this for my girlfriend for the sole purpose of this kayak being specifically tailored to bring the pooches along. Overall, first impression of the kayak itself is impressive. The material appears sturdy, the coloration is beautiful, and the seat is very comfortable. We are unable to see how it actually performs until the earth thaws up here. I did have some minor issues. The bow has a foam separator that severely inhibits storing capabilities, and the seatâalthough conveniently adjustable in heightâis not solidly in place on the kayak. These are my only concerns and awarding 3 stars is mostly due to backcountryâs presentation of the product. Only one picture is provided; to me this isnât enough. Luckily there are copious amounts of reviews and YouTube videos. Despite my ranting we are very pleased and extremely excited to try this yak out after we buy a paddle.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I was looking at Native watercraft when a local told me to check out the Jackson Tripper 12. I knew I wanted the open cockpit and comfy seat. This yak is all that plus it handles well, is stable and paddles well for a wide boat. I added Scotty track for flyrod mount, yak attack paddle holder and cleats behind seat. I also ordered the soft cockpit cover from Jackson.
