A champ for long races and serious trail running.

Anyone can go for a quick jog on the road, but it takes a little more commitment to head out for a 50-miler on a rugged trail. The Inov 8 Roclite 295 Standard Fit Men's Trial Running Shoe won't make your ultra easy, but it will make it easier, with a foam footbed, EVA midsole, and 6mm drop for a great combination of support, cushioning, and natural movement. The Roclite uses Inov 8's Meta-Shank, which places a polymer insert under each metatarsal for flexible support, and also features a RocLite sticky rubber sole a deep tread for grip on slippery and loose surfaces. It's also been beefed up with a rubberized toe bumper, and has a gaiter pocket so you can attach Inov 8 Race Ultra gaiter for protection from sand, pebbles, and bushes.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

These shoes are pretty great! Especially, when it comes to trail running.  I wouldn't consider myself a huge runner, but I try to run 3-4 miles about 3-4 times a week.  I prefer to run outside; mostly on trails.  I also don'™t do a lot of running in crowded areas.  So normally I'm on quiet roads or on the trails.

I get shin splits so I have to be really careful about the shoes I choose to run in.  Normally I try to go with a minimal shoe (helps my shins). These provide great support for my feet, and I have yet to have shin issues (knock on wood). My feet are wider than the average person, so Nikes are usually pretty tight on me, but these fit perfectly from a width perspective. I'™m always a 10.5, and these are a bit tight on me, but not to the point of discomfort.

I also really like the fact that I don'™t have to lace them up super tight to get a good hold. A snug lacing usually does the trick. My heels stays in place really well.  I can even do a slow job and jump when the shoes are untied. So I've worn these are hikes with lacing them up. It's a pretty light shoe.

The Roclite 295 are awesome shoes, I'm an Innov convert now! I went with the blue and yellow, and really like the color.

I have a pair of Inov8 Roclite 295s and have put around a hundred miles on them so far between trail runs, hikes, and climbing approaches. Although I had some initial issues with fit, I really enjoy these shoes.

I usually wear a size 10.5 and after hearing that these shoes run true to size, that’s what I ordered. However, when they arrived I found them to be very tight. I decided to try them anyway on a six mile run which produced pretty painful blisters on my big toes. However, since breaking them in I haven’t had any issues with fit. I will say that anyone who is between sizes should consider sizing a half size up.

In addition to running, I also use these shoes as approach shoes for climbing trips. They are light and deal with uneven terrain like a champ. Whether its been walking up steep slopes, are scrambling over scree these shoes have proven themselves to be very useful with their super grippy soles.

The foam footbed of the Roclite 295s are very noticeable and was a feature I immediately could feel when running on trails. The soft bed was ideal when running down hill and my knees definitely thanked me after. As I mentioned, the tread is very hard and has great traction. However, something I noticed on gravel trails is that the tread picks up large chunks rather quickly which is to the detriment of grip and weight so I try to avoid any routes that are covered in pea gravel with them.

Overall I have enjoyed these shoes and plan on using them in a group 50-mile race this coming weekend. I would definitely recommend the Inov8 Roclite 295s to a friend.

Use these trail runners as my backpacking go to shoe. Great protection and feel for the trail. Fits as expected. Toe box is roomy and shoe feels light. This is a great upgrade over previous years models.

Love this shoe. Use it primarily for trail running and have never had traction issues even when running through mud or streams. This shoe is very light weight and feels great to wear. I have also used this shoe on hikes as well as just wearing around town, couldn't be happier. Before this shoe I just ran in a pair of brooks road running shoes, I switched straight over to the inos and loved the 6mm drop. Highly recommend this shoe.
