Designed to excel along Industry Nine's local trails in the root and rock-infested Pisgah National Forest, the Enduro 305 27.5in Boost Wheelset exemplifies the riding spirit of Enduro with impressive durability on rowdy downhills, efficient climbing prowess, and gobs of cornering grip. This rock-solid aluminum wheelset represents the second generation of I9's Torch Enduro series, bumping the inner width dimensions to a stout 30.5mm while adding Boost compatibility to the front and rear hubs.
By increasing the rim's inner width from 26mm to 30.5mm, the Enduro 305 delivers exceptional traction by accommodating larger volume tires on the trail. Wider rims flatten out tire profiles leading to a less bulbous tire with increased sidewall support, allowing you to drop the pressure for better grip on unruly stretches of singletrack. Another major benefit is reduced sidewall burping, meaning you won't have to constantly check tire pressure when you're rallying through rough stuff. And because they're significantly wider, you'll revel in the increased stiffness and support when you're launching over boulders, bursting out of berms, and sticking sketchy landings.
This wheelset uses I9's much lauded Torch hubs, which feature a six pawl driver with three-degree engagement for near-instantaneous power the moment you step on the pedals. These particular Torch Hubs meet Boost standards, with the front and rear sitting at a beefy 110 and 148mm in width, respectively. Ultimately, Boosted hub width equates to uncompromising stiffness when you're flicking your bike into formidable rock gardens, accelerating out of corners, and cranking up steep mountainsides for the sweet downhill on the other end.
The Enduro 305 27.5in Boost Wheelset is tubeless ready and comes with Presta valve stems and rim tape already installed. Choose between a Shimano/SRAM 9/10-speed or XD1 driver for SRAM's exceptional XX1 drivetrain.

Responsive and Burly!

Ran these on my SB6 for quite some time and loved them. They were stiff compared to the Easton Heist wheels before them and made locking in a corner a breeze. Not to mention the hub is built with amazing quality and I felt like it was a much more reliable wheel overall.. i would definitely recommend calling a Gearhead to get the right spec recommendations!
The Hype Is Real

Mountain bike wheels are a difficult thing to nail down; the perfect wheelset is going to be light, durable, stiff, have good hubs that engage well (and are also durable in a long term sense), and ideally cheap.
These tick off 4/5 of those requirements and 5/5 if you want to compare them to the outlandish pricing of some carbon wheelsets. I rode them for 70ish miles in Moab on an Evil Calling and was thoroughly impressed (enough to consider picking up the 29'er version for my Yeti SB5.5 that is being built up).
Though I cannot full speak for long term durability, I had a few hefty bottom outs and potential rim strikes that didn't do any sort of damage.
I love the 30.5mm internal rim width - rim widths have been fluctuating the last few years from low 20's to 35 ish and i think it will settle on somewhere around 30 - this hits that spot on. A 2.3 Maxxis Aggressor was perfect on it and a 2.3-2.5 would be ideal.
Ok lets hop on the scale and talk weight of these: Enve's 60/40 with boost DT Swiss 240's weigh in at a claimed weight of 1488g. These are 1695g - meaning 0.45lbs more in weight, but at almost a grand and a half less in price. I'll take that.
Lastly, the Torch hubs are the bomb. I rode with them previously on my Ibis 742 wheelset and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, though they do sound like an angry pack of bees rippin' along with you. Plus side is anyone ahead of you (hikers, etc) hear you coming a mile away.

After years of being a carbon snob and riding many of the well known carbon wheels, I decided to switch back to aluminum after a few too many cracks and other issues. The weight, efficiency, and tracking of carbon wheels still has my heart, but I couldn't stand the time off my bike waiting for warranty replacements to show up. One good way around this is to have an inexpensive backup wheelset, but I had always heard people rave about I9 wheels so I decided to go another route and try out a high-end aluminum wheel for once.
I have a few hundred miles on mine now, and I have been loving them. They really do rival carbon for ride quality, but at a much lower price point and with less fear of breaking down.
And the real cherry on top is the I9 hubs... the noise may be a love/hate thing I could see why you would find it annoying, but the instant engagement is incredible.
I would recommend these wheels to anyone, as long as the specs/intended use fit the bill of course. I still have love for carbon, but I don't think I'll go as far out of my way to get it anymore.

Simply amazing! I put them on my 2017 Yeti Sb5. Wow what a difference. I replaced a set of DT Swiss M1900 spline. The I9's are lighter, stiffer, better looking, and better sounding. They held 50psi without any sealant. I would recommend to anyone looking for a high end wheel set. Speak with Grant Kates in sales he will set you up right.
