Big tires and boosted axles.
Made to pair with today's beefy tire trends, Industry Nine's BackCountry 360 27.5in Boost Wheelset strikes a balance between efficient climbing and durable construction, with a widened footprint for optimal traction with plus-sized tires. Boost axle compatibility adds a dose of stiffness for precise tracking and unwavering confidence when barreling across rocky trails.
This wheelset features a beefy 36mm internal width, accommodating plus-sized tires ranging from 2.4 up to 3.0-inches in width. However, it's stout stature doesn't hold you back with excess weight on the trail. Tipping the scales at a claimed 1765 grams, the Back Country 360 Wheelset won't keep up with the featherweight, narrow-tire XC rigs, but is certainly competitive, especially considering its widened footprint on the dirt. Ultimately, wider wheels accommodate lower tire pressures for unrelenting traction and improved grip on the trail.
Tried-and-true aluminum construction ensures robust durability for ripping across technical sections of trail littered with rocks and roots. Industry Nine's Torch hubs deliver near-instantaneous 3-degree engagement for easily powering up and over trail obstacles. This wheelset is available with a HG driver for Shimano/SRAM drivetrains or a XD driver for SRAM's cutting-edge 11/12-speed drivetrains. It comes tubeless-ready, with pre-installed rim tape and Presta valves.

Perfect plus tire wheelset
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This wheelset is amazing for plus tires. I had an Ibis Mojo 3 I ran these wheels on, set up with Maxxis 2.8 tires, and the internal width of 36mm gave the tires a great profile without squaring them off too much and exposing too much of the sidewall. Plus they are super stiff laterally, which helps alleviate the vague feel that can sometimes happen on plus bikes.
Plus, they're industry nine wheels, which I think are arguably the best alloy wheelset for mountain bikes out right now. Amazing hub design and quality, plus their proprietary alloy spokes are the stiffest laterally that I have ever used. Also, everything is handmade and assembled in the good ole USA, so what's not to love?
