An ultralight, breathable liner to shape your foot for the hard-charging days.

Before you buckle into your rigid, plastic foot-prisons, slip on the breathable, supportive Icebreaker Skier Liner Over The Calf sock. Ski boots aren’t comfortable, but with the Skier Liner you get support in the Achilles and instep to keep your foot’s natural shape, as well as a reinforced heel and toe to deter blisters. A breathable zone on the top of the foot lets hot, sweaty air out as you rip up the mountain. With wool, nylon, and Lycra spandex construction you get a tight fit that can easily accommodate another lightweight sock to insulate your foot on cold days.

    Nice merino liners; runs large

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

These are nice merino liners. They run large. I wear mens 8-8.5, and ordered the smalls in these (size chart says they fit a mens size 7-8.5), but they are quite roomy--the heels come up a bit high and they are loose fitting (but most liners are). I recommend downsizing, if you can. For example, I think the smalls would fit somebody with a mens 9 or even 10 just fine. If I were a size 7, I'd be swimming in these smalls.

Something to keep in mind: Merino does not stretch like acrylic or cotton. Some merino socks with decent amounts of nylon and lycra can be pretty stretchy, but socks made of all or mostly merino really don't stretch much compared to other socks. Keep that in mind ; )

    Good liner sock

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This product is a good, wool liner sock. I chose these to use for skiing as I have a tight fitting race boot and it works well. One inadequacy is that I wish the sock had a bit more lycra in it for rebound after use...I'm not sure how long these will last but they seem to hold up during/after use and through a washing.

They offer a bit of reinforcement through the arch area and little else in the form of padding...they are a liner sock after all.

I definitely recommend giving them a try for either skiing, running or cycling as they do supply warmth.
