Living, Hiking, Walking and Cycling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using Icebreaker for nearly 20 years now. The cap works nearly year round. In shade, wind and early temperatures it does the job. It’s also perfect under my cycling helmet. If you take proper care it will last a decades.

Cozy egghead hug

Lovely double layer, light yet warm. Nice soft orange, could be reversed to soft grey/white. It’s the color that was on sale…. Fits my egghead without being right, to long, or just a yamacha…

Merino beanie is just ok

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This beanie is soft and fits. Lost my previous one and that was what I was hoping this new beanie was. Sadly a little different. It’s supposed to be reverseable but has the tag on the inside so I had to cut that off to be able to wear the navy blue colour I prefer. It does the job but not my favourite.

Easy to wear beanie

I wanted a less intensively insulating beanie than my full-on winter one, and this fits the bill (and my head). There are comments about them not being large enough for some, but my hat size is 7 5/8, and I have a full head of thick shoulder length hair, and I can choose to control it by putting this beanie on, or I can put it in a tight bun and still wear the beanie with the bun, and the top 3/4 of my ears, inside. Maybe the sizing has been inconsistent and others have got smaller beanies? It is true, though, that the labels are infuriatingly well sewn-in, making it impossible to use as a reversible as advertised, without getting brave about snipping the labels out. I haven’t been that brave yet, because I’m happy for now with the colour I chose.

The best pocket hat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best wool hat to keep stashed in the pocket of all your coats. It's so small, it doesn't get in the way. If you forget a heavier hat and you're stuck out in the cold, this thing will save the day. It's not heavy enough to keep you warm, but it's dense enough to keep you from freezing. I have a tall, narrow head and it still comes down over my ears enough to keep them out of the cold.
