    Au naturale performance.

The Icebreaker Women's Quantum Full-Zip Hooded Jacket delivers top performance thanks to its merino wool. You can push yourself on fall backpacking trips or winter dawn patrols and it'll keep your core warm without overheating. The slim fit and stretch fabric give the quantum a streamlined and comfortable fit as a top layer or mid-layer, and underarm ventilation panels provide extra ventilation. The fold-over cuffs with thumbholes come in handy when your hands start to get chilly, and a media-friendly chest pocket lets you bring your tunes along for the run or hike.

    I love this

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 150lbs

I have several of these and it is my go to hoody for most activities. The hood fits well under a ski helmet on super cold days and it is a great layer for cool spring hikes. It is a snug fitting top so not casual but looks great on. The thumbholes are comfortable and functional as well.

I own several - need I say more?

I found this hoodie a number of years ago (7?) just randomly and fell in love. That one is still with me although it's got a hole in the elbow and it's fraying at the wrists. I can't bear to get rid of it. It's been through more washes (no dryer) than I can possibly count.

But in the mean time, I've bought a few others. All in different colors since the colors are so pretty. And I have a black one for NYC (of course).

I like the XS for layering for skiing and other outdoor activities because it fits much more snugly so there's no bunching and wrinkling and uncomfortableness. I like the S to wear around just on its own for extra warmth when hanging around the house, going to the gym, casual brunch, warm weather outdoor activities, etc.....

It's really warm and cozy. And I'm always on the lookout for new colors and sales to get more. I think it also makes a great gift.

And finally, it just never smells. You can sweat in it over several days and still, it doesn't smell. Which makes it a fantastic travel sweater when you're away and just don't want to be bothered with laundry but also don't want to stink.

In the photo I'm wearing the alpine/lupin which is a super pretty bright blue with purple accents.

    Perfect for cold weather running

    • Size Bought: Medium

I run in all weather in the Northeast, and this is the perfect coat in cold weather with a base layer. It breathes well and still keeps me warm. I wear a size 6 but ordered a medium since it's a flattering but feminine cut.

Functional and Flattering - love this!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 125lbs

I am falling in love with Icebreaker because of the temperature-regulating aspect (lately I've been overheating in my fleece). This hoodie is very warm, and very flattering! Great for layering, but also looks great worn with black boots around town. I agree it is a slim fit, but it is long enough in the torso that it looks great!

After Patagonia stopped making a certain midweight base layer I liked to wear snowboarding, I purchased this top. I love it! Besides merino being the best material ever, it's warm and yet very breathable for hiking or doing hot laps in bounds. Also been wearing it running on cold days and it is super comfy. Love the reflective trim on the zipper as well. Safety first!

Slim Fit, but still a really great top

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

This one is definitely a slim fit. I am an XL and debating if I want to keep it or not. It would still be great for biking, running, layering, general cold weather activity, and it's Icebreaker, so it's just generally an awesome piece of clothing.

I also have an XL Ibex Shak Lite that might win over this one, but only on the basis of fit, and because I prefer a sightly more relaxed fit.

This one has some very nice details though... a more ventilated fabric panel on the inside of the arms, a double-lined hood to keep the cold out, three zippered pockets for keeping a key or ID with you during activity, thumbholes AND mitten cuffs (if you are unfamiliar with the mitten cuff... the cuff will fold over to create something of a "mitten" over your hands when it's cold out, or if you just need that extra warmth for the beginning of your run, and pull it off as you get warmed up, or maybe you go up in elevation during activity and just temporarily need the protection, then you don't need to carry gloves with you). Love that feature!

    Keeps me warm!

I love this hoodie - wear it on ski patrol everyday. Breathes well and keeps me nice and toasty. I wore a similar Icebreaker top for over 300 days and my only complaint was the wear on the sleeves that developed (slowly the cuffs would fray) but for being a wool product and used a crazy amount, I think this is normal. I still give it two thumbs up!

    love it-

this year's has only a one-way zipper though..i prefer the two-way that this jacket has had since day-1. i like the ''mitten'' cuffs this year's jacket has though; also LOVE the metro yellow and grey combo color..

my go-to sports and every day jacket spring fall and summer. the Realfleece jackets are what i use in winter. i wear a medium in most clothing and am 5'4''. the medium fits well with room for an underlayer.

    Best Zip-up I Own

My newest love affair. SIGH. Super soft merino wool feels cozy on the skin while still projecting from wind chill and summer night chill when the sun goes down. I wear this to work, around the house and also to exercise. Amazing quality and attention to detail in every stitch. Bought the grey/ yellow combo and get compliments all the time. This is a must buy piece... worth the price paid. You'll have it for years and years. Do it!
