    BodyFit 260 1/2-Zip Tech Top

When you're out for a full day of winter fun, you don't want cold air and discomfort to set you back. The Icebreaker BodyFit 260 1/2-Zip Tech Top is a merino wool top that keeps your core temperature regulated: the wool's air pockets trap your body's heat in while the fibers absorb and release your sweat so you stay comfortable when moving fast on snow or icy ground. The zip collar allows greater control over your level of warmth or ventilation. The soft fibers sit snugly against your skin while forward side seams eliminate chafing while you move, and the regular fit allows for a little more wiggle room. Offset shoulder seams accommodate backpack straps and thumb loops keep sleeves in place. A drop-tail hem provides extra rear coverage. With this level of snug comfort and protection, you'll be able to focus on the line- or trail-at hand.

    • A warm baselayer for ripping laps at the resort
    • Merino wool is warm and naturally odor-resistant
    • Half-zip design lets you ventilate quickly
    • Slim fit is perfect for layering
    • Flatlocked seams eliminate chafing

    Good for Snowboarding

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I bought these for my wife and here is the feedback she has:

"I purchased this for a first layer snowboarding and it is definitely warm and great for cooler days. It's nice having the 1/4 zip since it is a thicker weight, when it gets hot, zipping it down will cool you off.

The fit is true to size. I purchased a medium (which I usually wear) and am 5'7", 135 lbs. It is longer bodied and has thumb holes which is nice.

My only complaint is that the wool is a bit itchy. You eventually get used to it, but it itches a little bit every time I first put it on.

    Best. Wool. Ever.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I bought this in an XS in Heather Grey and it is my new favorite shirt. I wear it everywhere. It is well fitted so I can wear it skiing, to work, or to dinner. I love the zipper and the thumb holes! I wear this shirt so much that I ended up buying another one in the redwood color :) however, I did buy the second one in a small instead of an XS to have a bit more wiggle room. I hang dry it and it hasn't stretched or lost its shape from what I can tell. It's definitely on the pricier side but I can tell it will last for a long time.

THis is nice but funky sizing this year

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large

I bought this exact shirt last year in size M and love it. Ordered this year and the M is much larger. Sleeves and torso much longer. Too big had to return. I love and prefer the fit of last year's.

It's winter time and I had to order another of my favorite tops. I've found this top to be perfect for wearing out for an early morning ski tour and then heading into work and throwing on a pair of jeans with. Just what a dirtbag like me needs! Definitely recommend.

    Love this shirt

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I needed a mid weight base layer to wear under my sidewinder sv for temps in the high 20s-mid 30s, and this was perfect. I decided to the the men's small b/c last year this women's shirt was too tight in the neck and under the arms. I haven't tried this years on, but like the men's small fit. I have broad shoulders, long arms, 34D chest, 125lbs, and narrow hips/waist/butt. So, men's though a little long, fit great under my bibs b/c there was no riding up. Wore the shirt 3 days in a row and didn't smell at all.

    Functional, stylish, and comfortable!

I am 5'6", 32DD, 30" waist. I tried this top in size medium (cognac), and it is absolutely perfect. It is lightweight, very warm, and doesn't itch at all. I wore it hiking and rock climbing last weekend in the canyon, and it was absolutely perfect for the brisk fall day. I didn't get too cold, sweaty (on my upper body where the shirt was), or stinky over the course of the day. I used the thumb holes the entire time, with the exception of when I was actually on the wall (need those hands exposed!). I adore the thumb holes!

After a long day, the garment was covered in dirt, climbing chalk, debris, macaroni and cheese spillage because I was really hungry and a bit clumsy with my chow that evening, and more beer spills than I care to admit. It came out of the wash looking brand spanking new! I may have been a bit overly hard on it to test the durability of the garment, and it passed with flying colors.

As an aesthetic aside, the cognac color is gorgeous. The wine colored stripes are so dark they are barely perceptible next to the black, and they give the garment such a nice depth. I have received compliments on the color and the overall garment itself.

I recommend it for its technical applications as well as its aesthetic qualities. Get one! You won't be disappointed!

    Won't be my last

I read all the reviews before buying this top, and I think they nailed it. It's very comfortable and warm; I've been wearing it skiing in New York. There are colder parts of the country, but our nighttime temps. have been 0-20 degrees plus wind. And I run cold. I love the thumb loops because they keep the sleeves over my wrists. I think they do run small like other ladies have written. I got a small and I'm 5'7", 130 pounds. It's a little loose which allows me to put another layer comfortably underneath.

    Love this top!

I wear this everywhere once the weather turns chilly. Its perfect to throw on with jeans for the day. Well worth the $$.

    Perfect fit!!!

Comfortable- feels like a warm layer of skin, keeps you warm without a coat @ 12,400' mild breeze and 46 deg! I love it so much I bought another icebreaker product!

Yes- you must buy if you pack in the high country, will not regret.
Breathable, snug, warm, not itchy, thumb holes, fits under any shirt, jacket nicely.

      It's the best!

I wear this top for my daily bike commute to work and it is the best at keeping me both warm and dry and doesn't get smelly. This is actually the second one I've had, and I only got rid of the first one because I tore it up in a bike crash. Highly recommend!

        Bought as a gift- it's a hit!

I bought this for my sister, and she loves it! She said the fit is phenomenal and flattering, and very true to size. She has worn it constantly since Christmas, and raves about it. The Merino Wool is insanely soft, and feels so good against the skin. She likes it so much, I might just buy one for myself!

Soft, cozy, flattering fit - WIN!

This might be my new favorite layering piece. I can wear it with a lightweight long underwear top underneath for outdoor sports in chilly weather, or a t-shirt for around town. It is fitted but forgivingly so... I am a busty size 8/10 and the Medium gives me room enough in the chest (very stretchy fabric helps!) without being baggy around the waist. The sleeves are plenty long, perfect for me, and I love the thumb loops. I haven't tried washing it yet, but I'm hopeful it will live up to the Icebreaker reputation of durability. I got it on sale - not sure I'd pay full price for it, but at 40% off you can't go wrong!

            Another Winner!

I love this top! Of course I love all the Icebreaker pieces I own. This is a nice mid-weight top. It is fitted, which I like, and flattering. I got the teal and it's a very nice color. Great for daily use or for cold weather exercise. It layers well and is soft and comfortable. Fits true to size. Nothing bad to say about this shirt! In fact, the price was so good I bought two!

              Versatile and flattering top

OK, I'm hooked on Icebreaker! The fact that this is a midweight top makes it SO versatile. You can layer it on colder days or wear it alone on mild ones. I love the quality and functionality of Icebreaker products and this is no exception. Runs tts, while still allowing for something underneath if you want and the fit is flattering. All my icebreaker pieces (don't tell my husband how many) have washed up well....without shrinkage and don't seem to pill. Great stuff!!

                Great for layering

My 1st ever Icebreaker purchase several years ago and still one of my favorites. I now own it in 4 different colors, the cranberry and icicle I bought this year and love them. Perfect for hiking, walking, and snowshoeing because you can zip it up to warm up or keep it unzipped to cool off once after you've been exercising for a while. I wear mine over an icebreaker cam and retreat tank on warmer days and over my long sleeve nature top on colder days. I bought an xs, which is what i usually wear in icebreaker tops. Great purchase that you'll love for years!

                  Phenomenal, and worth the cash.

I'm new to the whole frigid winter experience and subsequently did a lot of research prior to investing the necessary amount of cash into wool products...initially I tried out 3 different brands, but it took very little to become addicted, and ultimately I've become an Icebreaker girl. The wool is good quality, doesn't itch, doesn't hold odor, and the clothing just generally looks nice.

I've now own two of these tops, and they're amazing! I pretty much live in them. They wool is thin that's perfect for layering; there's even got room to wear another light shirt underneath for when I have to spend a lengthy period of time inside a warm building. And the stitched in thumb holes are a must!

They run just about true to size, perhaps a hair large, but it allows a little room for those with more of an hourglass figure.

                    new favorite

This is the 2nd IceBreaker top I've purchased from Backcountry and I absolutely love it. It runs a little large so order a size smaller than normal. I normally wear a medium and it was too large. The small fits perfect (I'm 5'7 130lbs). The Java color is a deep purplish rich dark brown color - very unique.

Another Excellent Piece of Tech Wear from Icebreaker

I always feel a bit of guilt for how much I spend on Icebreaker ... but never so much that I've ever returned any piece I've ordered. And I think that says a lot about the quality of the brand.

This fits like "bodyfit" should - right next to the skin as a bottom-layer. It's not so tight that you can't get comfortably wear your Icebreaker tank top underneath it, though.

The only thing I wasn't sure about was the neck, which seems excessively long on this piece. It seemed strange while I was trying it on out of the box, but I've worn it twice now and never noticed it during those days.
