A baselayer that doesn't just keep you warm.

Icebreaker made its Men's BodyFit 260 Apex Legging With Fly out of merino wool to do more than just keep you warm. It regulates your body temperature so you're neither too warm nor too cold. It breathes so you don't stifle with heat exhaustion after an intense ski session. And it's antimicrobial so the legging stays fresh after days of use. Icebreaker stitched the backside so there isn't a center back seam to add bulk to your ski attire. The brushed elastic waistband feels soft next to your skin, and a gusseted crotch offers the unrestricted movement you crave when you're on the slopes.

    I am sheep

Icebreaker does it again. Now that I have these leggings I'm kitted out in Icebreaker from the socks up. And let me tell you, my world view has changed-- I feel like I'm actually a Merino ram in New Zealand sometimes. I'm comfortable, warm, and dry all day.

Once you make the switch to merino you'll never look back. And once you make the switch to Icebreaker, you'll wonder why Capilene was ever invented. These leggings are the comfiest, best performing piece out there. They regulate temperature suberbly well, wick moisture so I never feel damp, and don't stink even after three sweaty days in a row. Many manufacturers will make similar claims for their products, but Icebreaker is in another league. Buy one pair of these instead of two or three of a cheaper layer. You won't be mad.

Great baselayer. True to size. Wore them snowmobiling at 70 mph with temp at 20 below zero. I was plenty warm!

Warm and Breathable with an athletic fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 160lbs

    I'm 5'9", 160lbs and I bought a medium. Perfect fit.

Let me start with what I normally don't like about tighter fitting base layer bottoms. A lot of the time, the crotch area is too short, and when you raise your knees (on jumps, when skinning, etc.), the base layers restrict upward movement of your thighs. These base layer bottoms, however, fit incredibly well. The crotch area is perfectly cut to allow maximum movement while still fitting to form.

They are very warm and regulate temperature extremely well. Not as heavy weighted as expected, but I actually ended up liking that more.

To be honest, I have always been a fan of the Patagonia Capilenes (levels 1 - 4), but Icebreaker brand has exceeded my expectations. This is a bit off topic, but I am much warmer in my Icebreaker 200 crew top base layer than my Patagonia Level 3 crew Capilene! Hope this info helps. I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a warm, breathable base layer that will fit you well and allow freedom of movement.

    Icebreaker excellence.

I purchased these as a gift for my father and he is loving them. I have had a pair for several years and they have held up very well, being used skiing, cold weather biking and general cold-weather hijinks.

They hold up better than a pair of 200 weight boot-top skivvies I've had for several years. It has been my experience that the heavier the weight of the merino the longer they will last. That could be me treating things wrong, but I usually follow care instruction pretty well.

Bottom line, you can't go wrong with this pair of long johns.

    Not my first pair!

I got three seasons of daily wear out of my previous Icebreaker BodyFit 260 leggings. They eventually wore away between the legs. Why try a different brand when I love this so much? I ordered a couple of replacements.

The Men's medium was perfectly snug for me three years ago. The new leggings are tight; but I decided to stay with it.

Bought as a gift, now im buying more...

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My brother in law swears by these things and says he will never wear anything else again. I got them for him for christmas last year and I have received some feedback.

"Dude, these are F#$%ing awesome can you get me like 2 more sets of the tops and the bottoms?"

He's and outdoorsy dude, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling in pretty low temps in eastern Washington. He loved them.

I am an awesome brother in law because of these.

    Very comfortable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Bought it to keep warm under my gore-tex shell pants and even without insulation they are great. They will keep you warm down until around the 0 degree mark. Any lower and your going to want either a higher weight wool base layer or a soft shell layer beneath.

    Warm, Comfortable, everything you need

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

These are very comfortable and are definitely my favorite baselayer in my gear closet. I have been shopping around for a warmer - heavier weight baselayer and finally decided on the 260 from Icebreaker. I am a huge supporter of merino wool for the supreme moisture wicking ability that it has. Keeping yourself dry while skiing/boarding/ hiking the backcountry is key to warmth and these leggings get it done!
