Why We Like The Ripley X01 Eagle Mountain Bike

We swing a leg over the Ripley X01 Eagle Mountain Bike with confidence to tackle big routes in unforgiving terrain knowing that it might just be the most versatile 29er from Ibis. This short-travel 29er has the legs to spring for high-mileage cross-country rides, and backs it up with modern geo numbers and 120mm of DW-Link suspension to handle technical descending with a poised character. The magic of the DW-Link shines bright on this bike, providing a lively feel on undulating terrain with a pension for side hits and bonus lines, yet delivers tons of traction when the going gets steep. The bike tracks predictably whether we’re scooting up technical rock slabs on Moab’s slickrock trails, or bashing corners on steep descents in our home Wasatch mountains.

When it comes to geometry, the Ripley sits at a 66.5-degree headtube angle with an efficiency-first mindset that also makes the bike more reactive in tight spaces. This X01 Eagle build features SRAM’s flagship X01 groupset to deliver crisp shifting at a low weight point, while Shimano’s XT brakes handle stopping duties with an instant bite for a reactive feel. The Fox Factory fork and shock deliver a wide range of adjustments for dialing in your ride to different terrain types, and a balanced tire spec from Maxxis rolls quickly while serving up excellent grip. Ibis specs their in-house aluminum bars, hubs, and wheels which all mesh together to soak up trail vibrations while performing reliably.

*Due to unprecedented demand in the global supply chain and the bike industry over the last 18 months, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be minor. If you have any questions, reach out to a Gearhead by chatting online or calling 1-888-276-7130.
