Subverting the industry narrative that all-mountain shredding is best achieved on an enduro sled with 6in + of travel, the Ibis Mojo 3 Carbon XO1 Complete Mountain Bike strikes the sweet spot between trail-taming hooligan and nimble precision scalpel for riders carving tight switchbacks, dismantling chunky rock gardens, and cleaning tricky climbs. As the smaller sibling to the HD3 and the logical successor to the Mojo SL-R, the Mojo 3 suits the rider seeking a do-anything rig that maximizes fun on a wider spectrum of trails and terrain types than its longer-travel brethren.
Packing the latest iteration of the iconic DW-Link suspension platform, the Mojo 3 packs 130mm of highly efficient, yet surprisingly plush travel in the rear. DW-Link gives the bike a supple feel that soaks up small bumps, yet ramps up aggressively at end stroke to prevent bottoming out on bigger hits. The Mojo 3 accommodates tires ranging from standard 2.3 inch (included with this package) up to plus-sized 2.8 inch bruisers. Upgrading to plus-sized rubber gives you the ability to dramatically drop tire pressure, bringing with it gobs of braking traction, cornering grip, and bump compliance, all without changing the bike's geometry or sacrificing its nimble handling characteristics.
Significantly stiffening the front and rear wheels, Boost thru-axles bring trail-shredding confidence when you're chucking it into rock gardens and picking a line through technical sections. By widening the front and rear axles to a respective 110 and 148mm, Ibis was able to shorten the chainstays down to 16.7in for nimble handling without compromising clearance needed for 2.8 inch tires. Other notable geometry updates include a slackened 66.8 degree head tube angle for downhill confidence and 13.2 inch bottom bracket height for low-slung agility.
The Mojo 3 features a full carbon monocoque frame that's every bit as stiff as the HD3, yet 0.4 pounds lighter than the enduro slayer. The XO1 build kit features a 140mm Pike RCT3 Fork that's highly capable with its Charger damper and 35mm stanchions. The rear comes equipped with a Fox Float DPS EVOL shock for increased small-bump sensitivity. Other notable goodies include an Easton ARC 30 wheelset that accommodates standard to plus-sized tires, a KS LEV Integra dropper for changing seat position on-the-fly, and SRAM Guide RSC disc brakes for slowing down in a hurry. Note, this particular build comes with standard 2.35in Nobby Nic tires, but riders can swap out to plus-sized 2.8in tires from Schwalbe or Maxxis (won't necessarily work with other plus-sized tires due to tire clearance issues).
