Why We Like The Hyperlight Mountain Gear 2400 Southwest 40L Backpack

We hike down dry river beds, bushwhack through scrub, and explore slot canyons with Hyperlite Mountain Gear's 2400 Southwest 40L Backpack storing everything we need for a minimalist overnighter. Despite its ultralight weight, the Southwest is surprisingly comfortable and durable enough for long hikes. Its Dyneema Hardline suspension system includes spacer mesh foam at the shoulder straps and waist belt, and there are supportive aluminum stays that we remove for even less weight.

I have used this several time. I initially bought it as a day pack but it had turned into my multi day pack. It’s comfortable and I am able to fit everything I need for a multi day hike.

Love this pack

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought this as my first pack. Really like the weight, material durability, design and simplicity. Took it on a 25 mile/2-day trip and really got to learn how to adjust it to be comfortable for my self. Despite its simplicity there are a surprising amount of ways to get the weight adjusted and fit to your body and liking. Unfortunately Hyperlite doesn?t really seem to have any in-depth instruction on guidance on how to do this beyond their basic sizing instruction. But it wasn?t hard to figure out either while on the trail. Perhaps the best place to test and adjust anyway.
