Hydration Pack
I own two; different models from past years and is the only real option for bike riding in the summer for the desert. Water stored in frame mounted bottles is neither of sufficient quantity or temperature for sustainable performance. Hydro Flask hydration packs keeps your water cool and the easily accessible drink tube is safer then reaching for a frame mounted bottle and riding with one hand while hydrating.

I love the Down Shift Pack
I bought this pack for mountain biking. I am very happy with how comfortable it is to wear on rides. It does keep my water cool. I appreciate the quality of the closure on the bladder.

Small main compartment, upgrades needed
No one seems to have noted so far on reviews how small the main compartment is on this backpack. The water bladder and insulation system sits at the bottom of the bag, taking up all the space. The insulation pouch reminds me of those insulated lunch bags with the reflective material. If you are going to pack anything else in the backpack, you'll have about 1/2 to 1/3 of the length of the backpack left if you completely fill up the water bladder. If you get hot on your ride and layered up, your jacket will pretty much take up the remaining space along with any other snacks you may have packed. Otherwise, there are two small compartments on the inside main compartment. Enough to put your keys/wallet/phone/energy bar. The external zipper is also small enough to store these items. But again the more you pack into these compartments, the less space there will be overall as it bulges into the main compartment. Pros: comfy when it's on my back for bike rides (the chest and waist strap keep it pretty secure),the water does stay cold (with ice!). Added upgrades that would be nice: Side cargo nets for tossing your keys or an apple or extra water bottles. Placement of the water bladder in a more traditional manner (going along the back and length of the backpack) I'll also be using this backpack for hikes and for the military on range days too.

Awesome Backpack!
I just bought this and used it for the first time last weekend for a ski trip. This pack is sleek, the straps adjust easily, and it holds an ample amount of water for a day trip. Perfect for holding extra layers, snacks or whatever you may need. Great fit on my back and shoulders, I almost forgot I was wearing it.

Lives up to the hype!
I don’t typically review anything but this hydration pack is AMAZING! Was able to have enough COLD water to hike 8+ miles at Zion National. The curved design helped to keep my back cool and the size was big enough to even keep my other camera lense.

Comfortable fit and keeps water ice cold!
After thinking about it for a long time I purchased this about one month ago and am so happy I decided to finally do it! I live in AZ where late summer is still very hot when hiking. I leave work and fill it up with ice water, hike 2-3 miles and still have ice in my pack when I'm done. Love, love, love this backpack! It has a comfortable fit and does not weigh me down. Great purchase!

Is there room for one or two extra water bottles to fit? I always like to bring extra water just in case.

Can you use this to go to music festivals or is it too bulky? Are you guys going to make a smaller condensed version?

I understand the concept of this, but how do you clean the 2L container inside the backpack, is it removable? Seems to me that like all water bottles I’ve had, they get that black funk on the lids/rims, that make it hard to clean, end up in the garbage.
