Weird side handles.
I wish the side handles were a little more ergonomic or more comfortable to hold in your hands. They're kind of tight fitting and awkward to hold, but otherwise a nice feature.

Ice melts
I love Hydro Flask so I was Excited to receive this the day before our family gathering. I packed waters, juice, and sodas with just a little under 20lbs of ice at 9:30am. It was heavy which I expected. More than half the ice was melted by 12. The temp outside was no more than 84 degrees. Drinks were still cold at that time. 12hrs later few ice cubes remain, drinks are cool and only cold drinks are juice pouches. I had high expectations but really feel let down.

24l waterproof tote would be
24l waterproof tote would be better if it had this zipper since that kept colder longer and the open top design allowed more stuff to go in even though the 26l day escape is supposed to be bigger. This tote is cheaper and still works. Well built great for hydro flask fans. Really fits for a quick bite at the park or beach. Really need to look at your needs. This my go to for few hours not a whole day or more.

I wish the opening was wider
I love the old design of the cooler much more. With the new design the opening is not as wide so it is harder to put take out containers into the cooler. One have four hands to do so; Two to open it wide and the other two to put the food in. I really dislike the opening design of the new model.

Zippers continue to fail
I’m going on my 5th replacement cooler because the zippers repeatedly fail. My newest one broke as I packed it for the first time and now they want to send me another replacement….. with the same zipper
