For Tree... Or Target?
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I was recently persuaded to try my hand at ax throwing and with much delight, it was love at first bulls eye. So, what does one do when the want to master a new sport? They spend all their monies on new gear of course! The 20 inch handle is great for control and the steel bevel was sharp enough to stick toe to heel even in the freshest of targets. Being a beginner I knew I would need something durable for all my bounce shots. This ax has taken a beating but has held up beautifully. Definitely a great investment.
No Beard Needed
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I'd bought this model as a replacement for my competition axe throwing go-to, and immediately fell in love with it. This monster has hit the wall continuously, bounced off of the ground, been taken camping, and sharpened often, and it's always coming back for more. With a wooden handle I wondered if I would crack it while using it to throw, but not a single splinter has been found. I would highly recommend not just this model, but ANY model of the Hults Bruk axes, as they are able to take a hell of a beating and still be passed down from generation to generation.
This hatchet made of Swedish steel is perfect for around camp or on a Viking raid. The weight and handle length/shape make for ergonomic use. It comes with a leather blade guard that is as handsome as it is functional. Great for creating tinder and splitting small logs. It comes sharpened.
Best Gift Ever!
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Seriously, who doesn't love a sweet Swedish hatchet?
I gave this to a good friend who is my camping buddy and he was so stoked. It is properly sharpened, not too sharp, but perfect for doing work, not hanging on your hipster mantle. The handle is smooth and ready for a gloved working hand, no slipping possible though as the finish feels a little hydrophobic at first impression, however this is not tested or a spec that they list. The weight feels perfect for making kindling and splitting smaller logs that a maul is just not needed. Get it, and enjoy.
