If you knew me, you would know that I am much more of a cyclist than a runner. These shoes have allowed me to step out of the box and truly enjoy running for the first time. They have the perfect mix of support and traction that allow me to push peaks and blaze through single track in comfort.

The torrent is the lightest mid cushioned trail runner I have, and I was very impressed with the miles I put on them in the first half of an ultramarathon this weekend. They felt incredibly soft on groomed trails and even handled technical trails well, but I would really say this shoe is more designed for dirt roads and mellow trails since it lacks a rock plate. The only reason I dropped to four stars is potential durability issues with the upper fabric, although incredibly breathable I dont think it would really put up to major abuses of mountain running. Overall a great shoe for those fast 5 to 20 mile runs! Check the size chart, I normally wear an 11 in all other hoka shoes but a 10.5 is a little on the large size.
