Stray from the beaten path in the HOKA ONE ONE Women's Tor Ultra Hi WP Hiking Boots. A fusion of trail runners and hiking boots, these lightweight boots have a full-grain leather and textile upper for long-lasting durability, and a waterproof Event membrane to keep your feet nice and dry all day on the trail. The lace-to-toe Forefoot Flex Grooves enhance your comfort and foot control, while the protective rubber toe cap defends against protruding rocks and roots. Built with late stage meta-rocker geometry, and with a blend of RMAT and EVA midsole, the Tor Ultras deliver a smooth, cushioned ride throughout all of your rocky terrain adventures. When your hike turns soggy underfoot, the Vibram MegaGrip rubber outsole with 5mm lugs give your steps extra traction on slick rocks and logs to keep you upright.

Comfy, but big

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I bought this for my wife, and these are her thoughts. I have the Tor Summit Mid hiking boots in size 6 and they are my favorite boots for both backpacking and climbing approaches. I wanted to buy a second pair, but found they are discontinued. Looking for a replacement, I tried the Tor Ultra Hi in size 6, but these have a larger fit, and Backcountry does not sell size 5.5.

I love these boots so much !

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love these boots so much I bought a second pair! Truly for me these are the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever worn! I have a wide foot with falling arches and bad ankles. I wear a size 8 and bought an 8.5 as I like to wear thicker wool sox so I don’t get blisters. I tried several pairs of boots and these were by far my favorite. I hiked for a week around Mt. Blanc in Europe and the Satooths in Idaho. These boots are extremely comfortable even when I first put them on , no break in period! I like that they are water proof, light weight, high top so rocks done get in. My feet were never tired from wearing these. Like I said I bought a second pair !!!

good investment

  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 7
  • Height: 5'3"
  • Weight: 115lbs

I got the dark plum color, in a size 7. (I normally wear a 7.5 in shoes.) I read that these ran a bit large, so I went down half a shoe size. I am glad I did, because they ended up fitting perfectly. They look like moon shoes, with the thick sole. It took me an hour to get used to wearing an incredibly light-weight shoe that looks like it would be heavy. I mostly hike and camp in Texas, so I wanted a shoe that worked in both hot and cool weather. I am amazed. I love the comfort, breathability, and durability of these hiking shoes. My feet and ankles feel fully supported when hiking on uneven, rocky terrain. There was no "break-in" time necessary. That was important to me. They feel great on your feet from the moment you first put them on to a month later, when you have done 30 miles in them. This was a very good investment.

Unanswered Question

What's the difference between the Mid WP and Hi WP hiking boots? The descriptions are largely the same, but prices are quite different. Thanks!
