Why We Like The Tennine GTX Hiking Boot

The Tennine GTX Hiking Boot's extended rubber around the heel gives a new sort of stability that we've never felt before. Not only does it lend a helping hand on technical terrain, Vibram's rubber sole gives a greater grip too. Whether we're trekking up steep slabs or carefully descending them, the Tennine GTX keeps us sure-footed.

Walking on a cloud

They may look like something for a mission to Mars but there are the comfortable hiking boot I have from HOKA...and I have them all. Perfect for long walks or hikes on gravel or fire roads. I may want a hiking with a thinner cushion for scrambling or bouldering. As someone who has broken their back and shattered my left leg the TenNine boots provide the comfort for an ultra smooth ride.

No

Bought these for a hiking trip, I walked 2 miles and developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot. They look great and feel light, but they destroyed my feet. I wear a size 13 in brooks and these 12.5 fit perfect.

Please make these in a wide version!!

I love Hokas but unfortunately I have wide feet and they have yet to make hiking boots that are waterproof in a wide size: (

Trail Hiker

I have 4 pairs of Hoka's & this one is my least favorite. I wish I had bought another hi top hike pair. They are not worth what I paid.

Had high Hopes But had to return.

Had High hopes this would be the perfect hiking shoe I was looking for on long hikes. First day trying them on they felt really snug in the toe Box area and my big toe on right foot was rubbing against the upper part of the toe box area. After several 3 hr hikes my feet was on fire each time even after lacing them up differently. Every shoe i have bought was always size 11 but for these the boot didnt fit right plus after several days i developed blisters on right foot. Overall seems the shoe runs small.

Different than my older model but does the job

Compared to my first pair of Tennine GTX-es, the sole is a bit narrower at the rear, and the foam feels a bit harder. That means that the roll-off from the heel going downhill is still very good, but that the ball of the foot receives more pressure. On my first hike at Horseshoe Meadows I actually had painful balls of the foot. After adding a pair of socks it was fine, no blisters going up to Whitney's trail crest and coming back down in 1 day. I presume the new model will last longer than the old one. Actually, the narrower sole was badly needed to make my microspikes fit. Of course, I still had to modify the spikes rubber and add longer straps because Hoka's are not made for microspikes. I hope Hoka will bring out microspikes that fit the Tennines and Kahas size 14 some day.

Excellent support. Heel cushioning could be a little better

Yes

They are very comfortable but some of the bottom of the shoe is coming off. I would like to send them back far a new pair.
