Why We Like The Speedgoat 5 Trail Running Shoe
The Speedgoat 5 is at home bounding atop root- and rock-riddled singletrack. Now a half ounce lighter, this racer has picked up the pace while still padding our strikes and energizing our toe offs. The sandwich mesh upper keeps our feet breathing easy, while the aggressive lugs solidify our footing as we charge up steeps, around switchbacks, and back down to the valley floor.

Best shoe for golf
My planter fasciitis requires Hoka support full time. Have not had a problem since wearing them with insole. Would love to see Hoka come out with golf shoe. Speedgoat works great. Am lifetime buyer twice a year. Mr Solomon bindings guy sure knows his stuff.

Build quality lacking
Although the ride is similar to the Speedgoat 4 (feels soft and stable), the build quality is desperately lacking. After ~200 miles of use, the mesh upper began ripping, eventually leading to a large tear along the toe box, and the foam base has begun falling apart bit by bit. Every rock I scrape takes a bit with it. The shoe is also too shallow to comfortably use any kind of supportive insert in. They're comfortable, but don't feel responsive or durable enough to use on anything but gravel and packed dirt - definitely not for rocky trails. Also just personal preference, but I don't understand the colorways Hoka has released for this shoe. Almost all of them I would never want to be seen in public wearing. Need more neutrals/non-patterned colorways.

Nice running shoes
These are nice with fun colors but they are not my favorite style. I heard some people say these are their favorite but I like the anacapa the most. I think these are really best for just running around

Great option for hiking boots
Got the Speedgoat 5 for a hiking trip, because I feel that most hiking boots require some breaking into and she previous Hoka trail shoes were good to go from the start. This pair felt great right out of the box. Great traction on the trail, and provided protection from the occasional bumps along the trail. My only concern was that I thought the tongue would allow small pebbles to get into the shoe. No problems there either. Love the shoes and very happy with the purchase.

Slippery Slope
Once I discover another Hoka model that provides fit, support and engineering for near perfect foot comfort, I gotta get at least another pair. Speedgoat 5s are doing it for my feet. First, I have a left of average foot, kinda narrow. Speedgoats accommodate my feet perfectly. Crazy thing, I have a friend with an average width foot and they fit his foot just as well.

Shoe fits tighter than the Stinson, and so far so good.
I mostly walk but occasionally jog in these. This is my first pair of Speedgoats after 40 pairs of Stinsons. They fit tighter all around except the length which is just right and the same. But the colors available are vomit inducing. Can't believe shoes made for the trail are only available in mainly day glow and checked patterns. There wasn't one color/pattern that blends into nature.

Extremely Comfortable
After having issues with multiple running shoes for years, this might be the best pair I have ever worn. Extremely comfortable at higher speeds and light on my feet.

So far so good but the color choices are clownish
I have hiked for many years in New Balance Fresh Foam Hierros with an 8 mm drop and recently made the decision to change to a 0 drop Altra Olympus 5....BIG MISTAKE! My calves could not tolerate the transition after 6 wks of pack bearing day hikes in preparation for an upcoming AT section hike. The Speedgoat 5 has been the answer so far. I appreciate the cushioning, comfort, & grip. I may very well stay with the Speedgoats from now on. The colors in the non GTX offerings are just atrocious causing the 4 rating. Hoka, please offer a more tasteful color palette for guys older than 30!

Shopping experience was good.
Won't know about the shoes until I race in them this summer and fall. Running 8, 12 , and 24 hour OCR races and I'm hoping for an upgrade in comfort.

Hoka speedgoat 5
I love the shoe, except for one reason. The tow box needs to be wider and more roomy. Otherwise the shoe is wonderful for running, hiking, or every day ware. I just received my second pair.
