    Sky Arkali Hiking Shoe

The HOKA ONE ONE Sky Arkali Hiking Shoe is ready to take you on the tallest peaks and most rugged trails thanks to its comfortable midsole cushioning, grippy rubber outsole, and supportive lock-down fit. Bringing a running-like cushion system to the trail, this rugged yet comfortable shoe features a PROFLY midsole that absorbs shock during the heel strike and delivers a more responsive toe-off at the forefoot, keeping your stride smooth and energetic throughout the whole hike.

Meanwhile, hook-and-loop straps at the ankle and heel help create a totally secure fit that won't slip or slide around when you're hiking through technical upper-mountain sections. On the outsole you've got a reliable and high-performing Vibram Megagrip outsole that keeps your footing secure on everything from dusty summit scrambles to low-elevation mudfests. And with an ultra-durable construction to top it all off, you can keep this shoe by the door as a reliable go-to for any mission on tough trail.

    Sky Arkalis!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8.5
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 170lbs

These were a gift for a peakbagging/trailrunning/general endurance fiend friend of mine--here's what he had to say!

I have not hiked these yet, but they look rad and fit snug while the same size Hoka Kaha were a bit roomier, perhaps for thicker socks. They fit the hybrid profile of a runner/approach with a more aggressive tread than most Hokas, and seemed a lot more durable than the other 2 Hoka designs I have. Cant wait to take them on some scrambles and then be able to run down the trail upon descent! I am confident they will perform well in this niche of trail runner/approach shoe hybrid--though for more technical scrambles I may still use my Vasque Grand Traverse and La Sportiva approach shoes.

    Great Feeling Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: mens 9.5
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I have put several hiking miles on these shoes so I feel I can write an accurate review. The fit is true to size. The toe box is not as wide are other Hoka shoes but there is still plenty of room. Having the laces to lower on the shoe surprisingly makes a huge difference. I'm able to tighten and loosen the boot depending on the terrain. The ankle strap isn't bulky and adds to the stability of the boot. The heel strap is also a great addition to making the fit perfect. I don't really notice any "roll' to the boot but that's just me. I plan on using them all summer for all my hiking adventures. Adventure awaits.....go find it!

    Comfortable support

Feedback from a friend: "These hiking boots were very comfortable to walk in. They had great ankle and arch support. The shoes also had great traction for climbing and walking. Numerous latches and laces make the shoe adjustable to fit a variety of hiking terrains whether you are walking on flat ground, climbing up steep hills, or scrambling over rocks. "

    Great all around

I got a pair of the women's for myself, and the men's for my husband. I got them for a canyoneering trip that had a decent amount of elevation gain at the beginning. We both loved them! They were comfortable and the higher top offered good support for my ankle. I don't often hike in boots unless I'm backpacking, but I had a good amount of canyoneering gear I was bringing and wanted support when wading through water when I couldn't see the bottom. They were really lightweight and the traction was great. I did feel like they may run a tad big so if you are between sizes, I would consider sizing down.

If you've tried on any pair of Hokas before, you'll know the characteristic smooth roll they give your gait with each step. The Sky Arkali is no different, but offers something a little different compared to their mega-cush running shoes.

The comfort is still there in spades, but the foam thickness has been toned down. You'll find yourself gliding over the trails; confident in each step with no sign of fatigue in sight. Each step is secure thanks to the VIbram outsole's incredibly tacky rubber and aggressive lugs The integrated ankle gaiter keeps out debris and allows you to lock in your heel with an adjustable strap. If you're looking to walk/hike/approach comfortably in just about any situation, look no further than the Sky Arkali.

      Fantastic trail shoe

      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 160lbs

Light weight, a cushioned sole head and shoulders above most trail shoes, and stable, and tough. It's got a nice tough toe rand and offers enough protection to hold up to rougher trails. They grip well on rough terrain as well due to the Vibram Megagrip outsole.

As best I can tell the shoe is designed for most people's feet to fit. compared to the toe box of most altras, they are narrower. What we've got here for adjusting fit though is
      1) your typical lacing system
      2) a strap at the heel to accommodate more feet
      3) a strap at the ankle that can be adjusted too
You can really lock down your foot fit these. The style wasn't my favorite at first but I grew to dig it.
