At the end of a long week, we lace up the Bondi X to take our thoughts for a run. Rigged out with max cush, this shoe forgives our first heavy steps as we find our stride. The extended rocker and springy carbon-fiber plate roll us into effortlessly swift transitions, never jolting us from the runners' high bliss we flow into after mile 3, while the re-equipped upper keeps a cool breeze on our toes as it fends off overgrown verge and a pup's discarded stick.

I like it, but wouldn't marry it.
The Good - Lots of Foam - Plate - Soft and thin upper mesh The Bad - Hard to pivot in (I run in New York city, average 5mi to 14mi per session). Cars, curbs, dog walkers, on-going construction, small children, aliens, rats, junkies, there's a lot I to need to move around while running. - Heel slip

Nice dunking shoe (Honest reveiw)
Just came back from a run in these. I don't know what others are saying about this shoe, and I care either. I'm 5'9 and I weight about 215lbs and carry it well. Ok, I'm a heavy runner and this is a nice running shoe. The front has enough room for my foot to, not narrow. I thought the rear was going to be a problem because it had some hight BUT it points up a bit so I don't scuff the back of the shoe when I start to get sloppy when I'm running when I get tired. It feels like there is more support around the rim of the bottom because when I come down my foot sinks a bit, I love that because it feels really cushiony and its balanced. What I did find is that there's a bit of a dip in the front, not bad though it's fine. I usually run in bondi 7 and there is no dip at all which I love. These have a tad bit of a dip BUT you don't really feel it while walking, it's really nice for a walk. All in all I love this shoe and this will be one of my favorite running shoes like the bondi 7.

Fine, but Not Amazing
I've wanted to wait a few months and get a few miles in on my new Hoka Bondi X before leaving a review. It's been about two months and I've put about 75 running miles on them, and the two biggest bugaboos I'm facing are the tongue and the heel collar. I've owned the Bondi 7's for a couple years now, and I'm not exaggerating when I say they changed my life. I was going through so much knee pain, back pain, and supination pain...but those coupled with a rigid insole made almost all those problems go away. So I was thinking the Bondi X would be an upgrade with the carbon plate. It definitely feels more rigid than the Bondi 7, but that's not a complete deal breaker. The tongue is an issue. It's incredibly thin and almost non-existent. It constantly gets bunched and pinched when I tie my shoes, I feel the laces through it, and after only 75 miles the fabric is starting to rub off. I'm not even a competitive runner. For the amount paid this is extremely disappointing. And the heel collar is relatively low compared to the other Bondi's, so much so that it almost feels like my heel is coming out unless I tighten it up real nice. Is it as life changing as the 7's? No. I kind of wish I had bought those instead. But like I said, I was also under the impression these were the next step up; but I'd hesitate to buy them again and would recommend others to definitely try them on before buying.

So disappointed these have been discontinued
Am in my late 40s training for triathlons and marathons. These shoes brought back my love for running and I am on my third pair over the past 2 years replacing them when they get high mileage. Am sad to see the pair I ordered from another vendor will be my last. Please bring back another carbon plate shoe Holka

What happened?
The Bondi X is the perfect balance of cushion and speed. I am disappointed that these seem to be discontinued.

I will try a different one next time
Not a bad show just not what I need a bit to much heel in the back of the shoe and I may need a bit wider but still good not worth the money

To narrow in the toe area.
I bought men's shoes for the extra room and toes are cramped. My feet are not wide and I weigh 135, length is right but not comfortable at all for me.

My second pair
These shoes have the padding and stability I needed to help me get past my plantar fasciitis. I plan to stick with these shoes until Hoka's next breakthrough in protection.

Awesome running shoe
Hokah is a lightweight comfortable running shoe makes me want to train harder at 60 years old.
