Why We Like The HOKA Anacapa 2 Low GTX Hiking Shoe
Made for day hikers who can't get enough cushion, HOKA's Anacapa 2 Low GTX Hiking Shoe keeps things light and plush on the trail. We love how HOKA's max cushion midsoles spoil our feet with max shock absorption, while the extended heel and Vibram Megagrip outsoles give us a stable, grippy base that smooths out our heel-to-toe transitions. The Anacapa 2 Low GTX is fully waterproof for damp and soggy trails with a Late Stage Meta-Rocker that steadies our steps on uneven terrain.

Insanely Narrow Toe Box
Unfortunately I bought these out of season and was outside of the return window by the time I actually put some wear on these. Every time I wear these I get huge blisters on my toes because the toe box is so insanely narrow that my toes are. I wear thin insoles and can wear them in pretty much all shoes normally but these crunch the insoles up at the toe like no other shoes I have even other hokas. I do not have wide feet and wear normal width shoes normally but even just on glance you can tell the toe box is crazy narrow so unfortunately I am learning I probably shouldn't buy hokas online before I try them on because their sizing is all over the place and weird design issues come up like this.

Great hiking shoe.
Very comfortable right out of the box. Very good traction. I would buy them again.

I like the look... a bit pricey
I really like the look of this shoe. Fits really good but a little wide at the toe for my foot and I normally take a wide shoe. My big complaint is that these a very costly compared to other similar brands.

Great shoes when new, but they don't last too long.
This is my third pair of Anacapas, and they are a great combination of light weight and good support when new. Unfortunately they do not last very long before the support and tread is degraded by use. For a shoe this expensive, I expect more durability.

Not a Hoka 11
I purchased the same size for this shoe as I wear in my other Hokas (I have four pairs), and even with hiking socks the shoes are just too big. I'm disappointed.

Not sure if I would buy again
Use the shoes for everyday wear like the water proofing but what I don't like and not sure if it's just my pair but they make a terrible popping sound when you walk

Unlike the previous pair
These were stiff, wide and gave me blisters. Had to return. Disappointing because the previous pair were great!

It didn't fit width-wise, but love the return policy
When I initially put on the shoes, it felt a little loose. However, it was comfortable once I started walking. I loved the grip it had when going downhill. The shoes felt great until I started to do some steep uphills where I zigzagged up the terrain and there was sidewise pressure on the feet. That's when the shoe felt too narrow and like the feet were slipping. I have 9.5/wide Bondi 8 shoes for my day-to-day walking, and I love them (5-stars). I have a feeling if they had a wide version of this shoe I would have loved them too, and I would have rated them a 5-star as well. I ended up returning them, and I love that Hoka provided a full refund and paid for the return shipping.

I love this shoe!
I didn't like the fit of the Anacapa1, but the Anacapa 2 fits me perfect. I prefer a slightly plush insole because of past knee injuries and I really enjoy the durability of the virbram tread.
