Why We Like The Wind Shield Liner Glove

All we need is baselayer warmth on our winter trail runs to keep warm without becoming sweat-laden and that goes for our picture-snapping digits as well. We slip our hands into Hestra's Windshield Liner Glove to keep icy gusts from giving us chapped, cracked knuckles, while the sticky palm print grips our trekking poles.

They need more weight / warmth

They fit of the gloves is great, with an intentional design that would suggest they'll hold up for some time. However, they would be perfect if they were lined with fleece, making them a mid- or heavy-weight liner. For winter or spring ski touring during milder conditions, these are all you'd need. The pull tab makes them easy to manage when on skis, and since there is a loop, you can feed some of Hestra's wrist leashes through them, which make these very ideal for skiing or snowshoeing ? especially with a dog like me. Most recently, I took these to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in January to use as my base layer gloves. By and large, they worked out great. I snowshoed a good distance with them in cold, windy conditions. My body temp made it so these worked well for the conditions. I also gathered and chopped firewood in them. Unfortunately this is a pretty messy process, so they became too wet before long and were basically unusable until dried. But, they held up. No holes, no split or undone seams. The placement of added protection and fabric surely did the job. They also worked well with my phone. Although, I noticed the thumb of these gloves was a bit long, which made it hard to use my phone with my thumbs. That could use improvement. Overall, a nice glove but at a higher price. If you're looking for a simpler liner with smartphone compatibility, you could find just as nice gloves at a lower price point. I've used comparable gloves for similar applicable at half the price. But even still, I'll keep and use them.
