I have a green Jeep Wrangler with orange accents on it. I saw the forest green and cork gloves in the mitten version at a store and couldn’t get them out of my mind, so I ordered the glove version. These are obviously expensive gloves so I made sure to wait until I had a discount code before I ordered (got 20% off). I love the styling since the colors match my Jeep and they go great with my olive colored Fjällraven parka. The gloves come with wrist straps and a small pack of leather conditioner. The conditioner package warns you that the color will darken, which it did. I was disappointed at first because I liked the out of the package color of the cork colored parts of the gloves, but now I’m used to the darker treated color. The pack of conditioner wasn’t quite enough to saturate both gloves so I had to order a full can of Hestra leather balm, so I recommend budgeting for that. The wrist straps are a practical way to keep from losing the gloves, but they can cause the gloves to get in the way of fastening seatbelts, buckling dog leashes, etc. Overall I love these gloves and I’m glad I made the investment.

Cute color on front may not be on back
Glad to see backcountry now has pix that show the back as well as the front of the glove. I'd ordered the green expecting them to be green all over except for the trim. The contrast color-- a tan-- on the inside was not my cup of tea and I am returning them. If they made these all in one color, I would reorder because they seem warm and well made.

A good pair of gloves goes a very long way. And these are better than good. I wear these for winter dog walks, car scrapes and out on the town when it is frigid. They look amazing, they perform great, and the wool does a great job regulating temperature. Highly recommend these.

They Shrink!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
A LOT!! The first pair I bought were my usual size in Hestra and they fit perfectly until they got wet from skiing all day. After drying they had shrunk so much they no longer fit correctly and were cold to wear. But I really liked the style and they are far warmer than my Fall Line gloves (which I’ve had three pair that have simply wore out, but never shrunk), so I gave my old brand new gloves to my wife and bought a size up this season. They seemed a little big at first, but once again after wearing them skiing a few times they have shrunk so much it’s now uncomfortable to wear them. Cool retro styling and really warm and soft, but guaranteed to be too small after a day in wet conditions.

My go to "casual" glove
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I got these looking for a lighter weight glove for cold nights on the town, as well as tasks where I know my hands won't be getting too wet. I couldn't believe how great these gloves are. And they feel just incredible inside and out. Not to mention how stylish they are!

These gloves work for around town, or touring in the mountains. The wool lining feels incredible. You get what you pay for, and these gloves don’t disappoint. Comfort level is high.

Around town style
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These gloves are perfect for the cold morning drives to work or the trail head. Incredibly fashionable, but the usefulness of them does not suffer for fashion. Lining is soft to the touch and has been warm down to 20 degrees so far. I typically don't spend this kind of money on gloves that I will be putting through days working outside, but he leather feels as though it would last up to hard, work days in all conditions.

Felt these and fell in love - expected them to be glorified around-the-town gloves but now use them as my go-to touring glove and even have worn them comfortably them night riding in temps down to the teens.

Different but just as good

A slightly different kind of Hestra. This liner feels different than the other Hestras I have (ski cross). Kind of crunchier but just as warm so far. Zero complaints but the wax treatment did make them a lot darker and kind of sticky--that wears off easily enough. They're not built for technical use but they kill it around town. Overall, everything you would expect when you pay this much.

Best Everyday Glove!
- Familiarity:

I look forward to putting these gloves on! They fit very well, and all the seams allow natural movement for my fingers. The leather is super soft, but also extremely strong. I've used them many times to shovel the walk and they show no signs of wear. Also, and probably most important, they are warm and the interior lining is very comfortable. Classic look. Very pleased with them.

Hello! On the “Cork/Brown” color, is the lining red or orange? Can’t quite tell from the pics. Thanks!

Hi Chris! It is more red than orange but definitely a... orangish red.

Hestra Wakayama vs Filson wool lined goat. Which is warmer? Which is more form fitting/flexible/provides the most dexterity?

Just two quick questions. Is the Wool terry lining 100% wool or is there any synthetic material in it? Question two, how is the warmth with these gloves. How would -35C (-31F) or lower fair with these gloves? Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer my question.

Hi there! According to Hestra's site, the lining is 100% wool! Brands don't provide temperature ratings on clothing because warmth depends on many different variables including activity level, metabolism, perspiration, and weather. These are definitely not the warmest gloves you can buy, so I think that they probably wouldn't work for temperatures that low.

Hey Giovanna, these are made in China. Shooting over a photo of the tag here, have them sitting at my desk right in front of me. They are great gloves though, I have been very impressed with them, let me know if you do have any other questions on them or on sizing and I would be happy to help. My direct line is 801.204.4547 or you can reach me at cojohnson@backcountry.com. Cheers, Connor

I know the interior of these gloves are wool. I wonder, are you using a glove dryer on the gloves or maybe drying them by the fire? Maybe, just maybe this could cause that wool to shrink???
