    Cogito Ergo Ski.

The gloves and mittens in the Heli line are Hestra's best-sellers, and they've taken them to the next level by tricking out the Heli Ergo Grip Glove with fleece insulation and a pre-curved finger construction to make gripping poles and fiddling with gear easier than ever. Of course, the Ergo still has the same waterproof impregnated army goat leather palm as all its Heli brothers, although with some extra reinforcement, and a wind-and-waterproof Triton polyamide upper fabric that can stand up to tree branches, ski edges, and all the other sharp hazards that your hands encounter on the hill. You'll never have to hit the mountain with wet gloves, either, as the liner is removable to let the Ergo dry before you head out for your next shred session.

    Hestra Heli Ergo

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I am a 100+ day per season skier and work in the industry. I like some Hestra products, but I am returning this pair of gloves. I have average sized hands but, knowing Hestra products, I ordered an XXL and found it barely big enough. I agree with the review saying that the "fingers are cut extremely narrow" . There is excess seam material inside the outer glove that has the effect of narrowing the finger itself. This is a sign of an inexpensively manufactured product. Probably I would have a positive review if the retail price point was $60-$75, but this model retails for $180. Further, the interior fleece liner should have been made an inch or so longer and secured to the outer glove by more than two tiny Velcro patches. As it is, it has a tendency to bunch up in the interior when you put it on. This is a deal killer. It also has some superfluous features that must have been added just for looks (whats with the pinky loop?). In the end, there are better products out there for the same or less money.

IMichael, I'm sorry you didn't like our product. That is one of our more technical models, ideally for someone who is working with their hands a lot outside (not just for taking runs and then riding the chair) The Ergo Grip finger is for additional dexterity, and the Merino liner is light and breathable to compensate for excessive body activiely. Also, the pinky loop is not simply 'added for looks nor superfluous', it's so if you are hiking or skinning in somewhere you can hang the pair of gloves UPSIDEDOWN (using the carabiner we provided) to yourself/your pack so snow, ice, and rain does not fall directly into your glove. If you would like to discuss further please don't hesitate to call into our customer service dept, and have them transfer you call over to me. Thx. Marc

    Ordered and returned

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I recently ordered this glove and returned it. The fingers are cut Extremely narrow compared to other Hestra gloves. The insulation seemed rather light and the dexterity was also sub par. Hestra Vertical Cut Freeride gloves have been my go to gloves for years, super warm and incredible mobility . I'll be ordering a second pair of them for my back ups.

Jesse, please see the comments I left above for Micahel. I believe they will answer some of yours also. That glove is in no way intended for the same use as your tradional Heli Gloves, or your Vertical Cuts. Please feel free to contact me also if you have any questions. Marc
