Why We Like The Hestra Army Leather Extreme Mitten

Hestra's Army Leather Extreme Mitten is our hands' best defense against winter's weather, whether we're striking an adventure by helicopter or mounting a snowmobile for an overnight tour. Flextron softshell gives this mitten waterproof breathable protection and 4-way stretch for ultimate dexterity. A removable liner with G-Loft insulation ensures warmth throughout winter, and the smooth Bemberg lining gives a super soft feel. Hestra added leather at the palm for a good grip, and the wrist cinch works with the gauntlet drawcord to secure the fit.

Great Gloves That Keep Your Hands Warm

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Gloves are warm and keep you dry. For some reason my thumbs keep getting cold with these gloves.

Thumb got cold

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Was hoping these would be my go-to mittens to keep my hands warm in basically any condition. First day I wore them was during an outdoor stroll in 17* F. Thumbs got cold within 30mins and was cold the rest of the evening. Palm and fingers were fine but thumbs got cold. So returning them.

Can’t Recommend Enough

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I’ve worn these for 2 seasons going into my third and they’ve been incredible. I’ve worn these on -18F days in the NH backcountry and didn’t have problems. If you have issues with cold hands, these are the one stop shop. If you don’t need dexterity and you just want WARM; look no further.

Kind of amazing

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

My hands tend to run cold and I've worn these for 2 seasons in Utah (approx 80 days out) and they're amazing. My hands are always warm in them even if the outer shell might be a little frozen or moist. You'll likely end up sweating in these but the liners wick away moisture so well that it doesn't really matter, they'll dry up before your hands have a chance to get cold. They might seem like overkill for most locations in the USA, but I think they work well.
