Unmatched Comfort & Breakthrough Luxury
- I've used it several times

The HEST Sleep System truly is a system of comfort, and one that has systematically revolutionized the capabilities of undisturbed all night comfort, and breaks the boundaries of luxurious rest for the sleeping pad industry. The advent of the Wide version adds a six star to the five out of five star rating. Awhile back as a teenager, I frequently camped in both hot and freezing conditions throughout the year and only ever had a thin generic foam sleeping pad to lie on in my sleeping bag. In the years since I made due with placing heavy blankets underneath of my sleeping bag for cushioning and padding while tent and car camping for kayak trips. When deciding that having an actual sleeping pad would be most convenient for undisturbed rest and transport for kayaking and non-backpacking trips, I spent many hours researching sleeping pads, and reading and watching dozens of reviews on each of the top rated and most popular sleeping pads. The conclusion came down to the unique and Wide model is worth more than its weight in gold when it comes to the value of every penny of its cost (I purchased mine during a holiday sale, at 25%). I was in search of a sleeping pad that I only planned on buying once and carefully reviewed every bell & whistle out there; the bottom line is that, at this time, from my perspective, there is no comparison to the Sleep System, when it comes to comfort at every level, and genuinely is a case of you get what you pay for, both in terms of top notch quality and, if needed, customer service from HEST Customer Service Specialists. The east of use of the system is very user friendly and does not take long to get the hang of after having carefully & closely first read the directions, and having practiced setting up and disassembling the system at home, prior to using it on a camping trip. As long as one closely follows the directions on how to properly inflate, deflate and roll up the system, no issues should arise. It does take some time to assemble and pack back up, but again, this is no comparison to even the best self-inflating sleeping pads and inflatable air mattresses. I found it easier to roll up when having another person to help, or if alone, keeping your knee pressed against the system with each roll. I also found it easier and as a precaution to prevent the plastic buckles from snapping, to fully loosen the straps before rolling it up, so that it has as much slack as possible. Once rolled up the straps can be pulled to tighten it do the size of the roll up. After a few times one should find that it rolls up to about the same size and little to no adjustments in the straps will be needed. Even when deflated and just sleeping on the ultra comfortable memory foam alone, the hard and moderately rocky ground made no difference. The air chamber works like a giant shock absorber, having it not to make a difference with what kind of surface you are sleeping on. I find it great for car camping too, when needing to inflate the air chamber was not necessary, and the same when camping on a cushy grassy campsite. I find the Wide version to be ideal because it allows me to naturally roll over and not wake up. That and the deepness of the foam, coupled with the height of the air chamber allows for me to tuck my blankets over my sleeping back, to where it feels just sleeping on the most comfortable kind of bed one could ask for. I feel more energized after having woken up, compared to the thin generic pads, and I noticed due to the depth of the foam I did not incur any muscle soreness as I had in the past when being only a few inches off of the ground. I also felt much warmer too, with being substantially higher off of the ground and from having the space to tuck in blankets. The craftsmanship is unparalleled, there is nothing cheap at all to any of the materials. I encountered one issue, which HEST, personally resolved with above and beyond service, in a way that is seldom seen by businesses today.

This is the camping mattress that I have been waiting for! So comfortable! Set it up on any kind of surface and you will get a good nights sleep. Lumpy ground...no problem! Tree roots, rocks, lumps, bumps are all tamed. I have the original Hest sleep system which has been awesome, but I have broad shoulders and I was always wanting more room. Now with the Wide version I am stoked!
