Great Initial Impressions!
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I got to check out this backpack from Backcountry's Gear Closet and take it out skiing a few times. I used it once on a quick tour and on a cat ski day with PC Powder Cats as part of a work event! So I have some initial impressions on the pack.
This pack held all my avy safety gear with great organization as it had assigned pockets for everything. There were two main compartments in the pack, the front side for avy gear and then the back side access for everything else where I kept extra layers and such. I have never used a pack before with back access so it took a minute to break my muscle memory when going to pack the pack, but its a great function and keeps your avy safety gear up front for quick access if necessary!
I found the back support and shoulder straps to be well cushioned and the shape aligned with spine well and kept the pack high on my back to keep my hips and legs mobile for skiing.
When we went cat skiing the snow was waist deep and snowing hard--this pack stayed totally dry and kept my extra layers safe for when I needed to change!
