    Ridge Shell 2.0 Jacket

Hike the ridge until you find the perfect drop-in spot—untouched snow, a couple trees to duck into, maybe a little drop to start things off—you'll know it when you see it, and thanks to the Helly Hansen Ridge Shell 2.0 Jacket you'll have waterproof and breathable protection from whatever snow you might send flying on your way down. This jacket is made with a lightweight three-layer fabric for dependable waterproofing that won't trap heat or weigh you down. It's also loaded with features to help you make the most of your days on the slopes, including the insulated Life Pocket+, an insulated pocket to help keep your phone from getting too cold and losing its charge, helping you keep your deep powder runs well documented.

When you take on a bit more than you can chew with long bump runs, the underarm vents will let you quickly dump heat and let in cooling airflow, and when you finally find that waist-deep powder stash you've been searching for, you'll have a snap-away powder skirt to stop billowing snow from getting in. The high-visibility, helmet-compatible hood keeps you dryer in snowy weather, rounding things out are plenty of inner and outer pockets to hold snacks, gear, and any other important items you need.

    • A waterproof and breathable shell for deep powder days
    • Three-layer fabric offers lightweight protection from the elements
    • Insulated pocket helps prevent your phone from losing a charge
    • Vents under the arm let out heat after hard-charging runs
    • Keep dry bouncing through waist-deep snow with a powder skirt
    • Helmet-compatible hood delivers added protection from wind and snow

    Hill banging rockstar.

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    Fit:True to size
    Size Boughtmedium
    Height5` 10"
    Weight170 lbs

One of my go-to jackets for riding the resort. The fabric has a soft-shell like feel, but is still completely waterproof, windproof and durable. I like the relaxed fit and longer length, which offers nice protection when sitting on cold chairs!

Great look, runs large, BUT: not durable

    Familiarity:I've used it several times
    Fit:Runs large
    Size BoughtMedium

I love the look and functionality. It runs large, so I had to exchange for a smaller size to get a slimmer look; I normally wear L, but I ultimately went with M. I've worn this with the Ridge Shell pants in the same color (brick), and they look great together. The jacket/pants snap compatibility also is a nice touch. BUT. The fabric is not at all durable. After owning the jacket just over a month, it fell during transportation, which tore two holes in the front pocket. My other ski jackets have been through much worse without ripping. I wouldn't recommend buying this if you'll be in the back country near rocks, cliffs, trees, bushes -- anything that might snag or brush against the fabric. The lack of durability might be a result of the stretch fabric, not sure. And unfortunately, Helly Hansen's position is that such rips are outside warranty. Suffice it to say, I'm kicking myself for spending nearly $1k on a HH ski kit that already has holes.
