- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I haven't had an opportunity to put this through the wringer, just used it a couple times in the yard, but first impression I like it.
I like all the Helinox products, light, comfortable and sturdy. My one complaint with their other chairs is the feet are small, as in sink into soft ground easily.
I wanted to try this chair because of the larger feet, and it seems to work better (haven't been in sand).
One thing to be aware of though, it barely gets your butt off the ground. If you want to sit higher or have trouble getting from a sitting to standing position, go with the Sunset and bring coasters to put under the legs.
Great Chair, not for me, great service
Lightweight, sturdy, attractive - I just didn't like the assembly/dis-assembly process. Backcountry processed my return with no issues, easy and simple.

I love this little chair. I am personally a fan of lounging closer to the ground so I can stretch my legs out. This chair is exactly the right height. I bought the palm leaves print on sale and I love that I am taking a little bit of the island vibes with me to every camp. It compacts fairly small in the pouch and is lightweight. I wouldn't want to take it backpacking, but it is great for everything else. I live on the road full time in my Tacoma and this is one of the items that I always have stowed away. Its great for fishing days, kayaking trips, sitting around the campfire, and more than one dog has napped in it giving the ultimate seal of approval.
I've just received the package and was deeply disappointed with the quality. No one expects to buy used one.
All the awesome.

This is a camp chair. It is too big/heavy for backpacking proper, though you'd be fine on a 3 mile out-n-back just fine. If you're car camping, there are cheaper bag chair options. If you're a frequent paddler like me though, have a few nights by the bonfire ahead of you and want the Cadillac of travel chairs, do not look anywhere other than the Helinox chairs w/ headrests. I specifically have the beach chair, but would love to try the sunset/two model chairs as well.
I'm in the BWCA half a dozen times a year on 4-5 day canoe trips. I have tried every brand and type of chair and had 2 requirements when looking for my own: Can't be the size/weight of a full bag chair, has to be comfortable enough to sleep in if the weather's perfect and the fire's toasty.
This is it. This is the real deal. It's the holy grail of this genre.
Perfect Beach Chair
I was hesitant to spend this much on a beach chair, but this one is worth every penny. I live in NYC and regularly ride my bike to a ferry, then take a ferry to the beach. So size and weight and very important to me. This chair easily fits in my small backpack with a towel, book, sunscreen, and snacks for a beach day. It also takes less than 30 seconds to set it up and is the most comfortable beach chair I have ever used.
