Ultralite CADD Fly Reel
ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz.
No, that's not the sound of your fishing partner catching some Zs on the riverbank—that's the sound of the Hardy Ultralite CADD Fly Reel's drag screaming as that big rainbow you tighten your line on runs up river. Being a member of Hardy's ultralite series of reels, the Ultralite CADD is machined from a bar stock 6061 aluminum and seated with a velvety smooth conical arbor disc drag system (CA DD) that can be quickly tuned to match the fight in the fish you have on the end of your line. The ultra large arbor picks up line blisteringly fast, while reducing drag gain as a fish turns head and makes a last- ditch run— this means you won't have to dial your drag back as a fish gets further away from you. Hardy's unique color coded drag allows you to quickly see where the drag is set, and it can be set between its highest and lowest settings in less than a full turn. Left-handed anglers will appreciate the quick and easy right to left handed retrieve conversion, and both dexterities of anglers will love the captive spool release, which allows you to easily attach different spool.

Downgrade from the DD Ultralight
I have the old model the CADD replaced, the DD Ultralight. The Ultralight is prettier, lighter, sounds better, and has fewer plastic parts. The only thing better on the CADD is the drag, which doesn't matter for most trout applications.
