In a word, advanced.

Hardy built the Zephrus Ultralite rod with their patented Sintrix 440 technology, which is an advanced kind of resin which surrounds each carbon fiber with microscopic silica spheres to increase strength by 60% and reduce weight by 30% when compared to traditional carbon fiber. This rod is designed for ultra-delicate presentation with a fast action to give you a powerful cast, and a high recovery rate. This lightweight rod is resetting the standard for strength of rods in its class, moving the industry forward.

Awesome rod

Bought this last season #3 9’9”. V accurate and surprisingly powerful yet able to present a dry fly delicately. Lightweight of course and a pleasure to use. Thoroughly recommended

A wonderful multipurpose trout rod

I bought this as a rod, the 9'9" #4, for dry fly fishing on larger rivers but it has quickly also become my favourite rod for small stillwaters. It is very accurate and presents small flies further and with less effort than the 10' #5 rod (not a Hardy rod) which I had been previously using but still has the power to deliver large flies like mayflies and damselflies. The quality of design and construction gives confidence and pleasure from the moment it is removed from its bag.

Ultimate River Rod

These are probably the best river focused range of rods on the market today. I have used the 8ft8 3wt for several weeks for some very technical dry fly fishing and it is the best dry fly rod on the market. Light, crisp and excellent with fine tippet
