Works great, but will wear out.
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This works great as a collapsible container. But given its essentially a rugged plastic bag, it does inevitably wear out. Mine made it through one hunting season, about 20 days in the field total. I didn't baby it, but I wasn't terribly rough on it either. I think what finally did it in was folding it over while empty. It started leaking from the seams after that. Keeping it flattened out while empty in your pack should extend the life. I just ordered 2 more, assuming they will wear out. It has great capacity and doesn't leak from the cap. If you're going for ultralight, I highly recommend it.

Leaked JD
After 3 packing trips, it leaked. Novel idea but suspect. Would not recommend it for the long run.

Gift
Needed an unusual but useful item for a scavenger hunt prize and this did the trick. So far the person who received it says it's held up after a few uses but then again they didn't feel it all the way to the top so maybe that's why they didn't have problems with the seal as others have said.

This thing is big!
I knew what this container was for, but, I had planned on using it carry extra water on treks. WOW it is big. I love that it hooks to your pack.

Broke on second trip
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I purchased this flask and was very happy with it on my first outing. This past weekend I packed up and headed to the hills for the weekend. Long story short, the screw portion of the bottle/bag cracked and an entire fifth of Angles Envy was lost. On top of that, I smelled like a drunk for the entire weekend.. Not the first time for that, but I wish I could have at least enjoyed a taste or two. Need to find a more sturdy flask which is a surprise since this one was always carefully packed. Maybe I tightened the cap too tight.

Who spends $60 on bourbon and puts it in an inexpensive (not necessarily cheap) plastic flask to begin with? Oh, maybe someone who tightens the lid too tight 😂

Thirsty?
This is a great flask! Holds enough for friends, no weird taste and you can just hook it to the outside of you pack for quick access! Great price

Bring your favorite beverage along!

These are great for bringing you favorite beverage along on your next hike or backpacking trip. While the liquid may add a little weight to you pack, the flask will not, coming in at just 1.2oz.

I love these "flasks" I am the idiot that didn't know that the liquid was printed on the product, I'm outed, I wanted to pretend.

Best out there
The cap is the key. It reminds me of a whiskey bottle cork. construction is great! The platypus preserve is a great secondary option but as long as this is available...I will always go with this one

Okay, so in the defense of the flask I wasn't really sure what I was getting when I ordered this product. Yes, I knew it would hold a fifth and had a solid cap and top, but I thought the material would be a little bit thicker and sturdier. Granted I haven't used it yet and from the reviews I am optimistic it will work great, just saying when I got it I thought it was going to be thicker and a different material. Overall I am pumped to take this on some trips this summer.

Put an entire 750ml of overproof rum in this for a recent 1 week trip and only used about 150ml, this container held it perfectly the entire week without one leak or drip and this was in the mix of a 40 lb pack being thrown around through the mountains. Almost want to switch to them for water bottles they're so secure and durable.

Zach, thanks for the great review. Stoked to hear the rum made it safely.

I don't use it for whisky
But I still love it. Great emergency bottle, or great for transferring to camelbak.

Great Product

GSI makes some really cool/handy products and this flask is no exception. It holds an entire fifth and we used several this last weekend for an event in CO. Easy to fill, no leaks and rolls down really light/small when done - way easier than bringing bulkier bottles. The only downside could be getting them completely dry for storage/next use. It definitely takes some time to get all the water out and recommend hanging upside down for a long period of time to avoid any stank build up. Just a touch of soap and a few quick shakes and it cleans up very quick. Outstanding cap/lid and the material takes a marker really well if you need to label/differentiate between your libations. Another great GSI product!

This little gem is a must-have for anyone who enjoys a pull or two around the campfire. The lightest way to pack whiskey in short of drinking it first. Also a plus at concerts with overpriced drinks. Definitely recommend.

Whiskey at camp has never been so easy

I love this little bag flask! It holds a fifth of your favorite beverage perfectly. When you and your buddies have finished all of the whiskey, it rolls up tiny and wont take up any space on the hike out. And as an added bonus, you don't have to worry about your empty glass bottle breaking or the weight of having to pack it out. FYI - This does say that it is BPA free, but it does make your whiskey taste a little plastic-y.

Had the same thing happen to mine after using it on 3 trips. It sprung a small leak near the neck and the nozzle cracked just like yours. My wife's cheap plastic wine flask from Fred Meyer is my new go-to, as it has held up longer for half the price.
