    Mellow bowls to steep chutes.

Equipped with Gregory's Fusion Flex suspension for lightweight efficiency and uphill-specific support, the Gregory Targhee 32 Backpack excels on technical ski tours and splitboard missions in search of untracked powder. The 7075-T6 aluminum stay transfers heavy loads when you're skinning uphill, covered by a thermo-formed back panel for soft-wearing comfort. Snow-shedding materials prevent it from soaking up excess moisture during inclement winter conditions.

This supportive pack strikes an optimal balance between ample storage and uphill efficiency, carrying everything you need for demanding tours without weighing you down with unnecessary bulk or unneeded features. Keeping you on top of rapidly changing snow conditions and emergency rescue scenarios, the dedicated snow safety pocket houses your probe and collapsible shovel. The hydration-compatible design (reservoir not included) keeps you drinking on-the-move, with an insulated sleeve that prevents your water from freezing in frigid temps.

Stowable ski and snowboard carry straps allow you to bootpack beyond the resort's boundaries and scale summits too steep to skin up. Stowable ice axe straps come in handy for riding through firm spring cycles and technical ski mountaineering missions. Glove-friendly hardware allows you to open and close the pack's compartments without removing your gloves and freezing your fingers off. There's also a stowable mesh helmet holder for staying cool on the way up the mountain.

    Awesome Touring Pack

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This bag is awesome. I purchased a smaller pack by another company earlier in the season and ended up not liking it as much as I had hoped I would. The pack was 28L with pockets and Avy gear placement in strange places that didn't work when I tried to pack it for 4-5 hour tour. I decided to replace it with the Gregory Targhee 32L and boy was I happy I did!

This pack has Avy gear and Helmet placement perfectly set up so if you come across another party in need of help while skinning, you don't have to remove your helmet to get to your probe and shovel. Access to the large compartment through the back panel makes it simple to get to other gear; And another pocket at the top of the pack is deeeeeep so you can load it with snacks & sunscreen for days when you're out from sun up to sun down. For a 32L, this pack seems like it has way more space than you assume at face value. The side ski carries are easy to use for sections of boot packing and there's also the ability to add a water reservoir for hydration on hot spring days.

Overall this bag is rad and I would recommend it to anyone who is getting in to touring.

    Awesome Touring Pack

One of the best ski packs

      Gregory Targhee
This is a fantastic ski and splitboard touring pack. It has all the bells whistles with helmet carry, two kinds of ski carry and three, ways to carry a splitboard, excellent ice ax carry systems and a big accessory pocket for you lunch or goggles. The Avalanche gear compartment is the best I’ve seen. Gregory extended it vertically to make it bigger than the last version of this pack. This allows for packing large avalanche shovels, which is tuff with most 32 liter packs. I highly recommend this for those who are serious about ski and splitboard touring.
If you have any questions about this pack or any others, please give me a call or shoot me an email.

Does this pack have pole carry straps for us splitboarders? And how large is the avalanche gear compartment? I have the G3 avitech shovel and G3 240 speed tech pole, which are large-ish and don't fit in my current pack.

      Great Features

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this for a friend to use as a touring day pack. He loves the design and all the handy features, he especially likes the helmet strap on the outside. It can be a pain to try and fit your helmet in your bag, not a problem with this pack! The helmet strap design on the outside allows you to securely fit your helmet outside your pack. The 32 liters is a good size for day long missions. It's not the biggest pack in the game but is great for a few layers, avi equipment, and snacks. he got a size small and is about 5'7'

      Well-designed bag

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The designers of this bag were really thoughtful. The hip pocket is big enough for several snacks. The top pocket for goggles is big enough for an extra sweater, your phone, and your goggles, but still has a separate smaller zip pouch so you don't lose your keys. The insulated camel back has worked well even in low temps. The big rear compartment has plenty of room for a shell and extra puffy. I took it on a 6-day touring trip to BC and loved it every minute. Plus, the color is cute.

Stoked to use it this season.

I just got this pack last week and I am already so impressed with it. I have not had the opportunity to use it out in the backcountry yet, but I definitely will be leaving some comments after I do (currently praying for snow)!! I have put all of my gear in it and it is the perfect size. The shoulder straps have very nice pads on them so it is very comfy when it is on my back. The hip belt is also one of the more comfy ones I have felt, it has very nice padding and is very well balanced. The pack gives you opportunity to carry your skis in a diagonal or an A-frame position. A couple other sweet features that this pack offers is a helmet carry net that can be easily stowed away, back panel zip option for when you have your skis in an A-frame position, and a good sized goggle pocket. I am 6'5" and the Large size pack fits me very well. Super excited to use this pack this coming season. If you have any more questions on this pack or any others you see on the site, you can contact me directly and I would be happy to help you out.

Would this be able to fit gear for a light overnight volcano summit and snowboard gear?
