Targhee 26L Backpack
Gregory designed the Targhee 26 Backpack specifically for backcountry touring whether you're on skis, splitboard, or snowshoes. Its VertFlex suspension system ensures vertical stability as well as
the freedom of movement that winter enthusiasts need on the ascent and
descent. This system includes a sturdy frame sheet, wire-reinforced
stability, snow-shedding fabrics, durable Cordura reinforcements, and
high-density foam at the waist belt and back panel.
The Targhee carries skis diagonally or in an A-frame, snowboards vertically, and snowshoes for convenient versatility. This backpack also holds your helmet and avalanche gear for quick access to your safety tools. The hydration sleeve includes an insulated hose cover to prevent your water from freezing. Gregory equipped the Targhee 26 with a top pocket for goggles and a security pocket for valuables.

Great Features, Comfortable!
Bought this for resort skiing and as a day pack for backcountry adventures. Everything works well. The pack is comfortable even when its fully loaded. Took it up Tuckerman's Ravine and it was probably the most popular pack, for a reason.

Bigger than it looks
This bag feels like it holds more than my 32L Camelback Trailblazer, might just be the organization between pockets but it holds a lot. Been using the Targhee pretty heavily (mostly full if not entirely @ max 25-30lbs) for 3-4 months now, no signs of tearing or unthreading at the seams. Stays tight during and after falls. Room for skis or snowboard when hiking. Only complaint is it didnt come with a bladder, fits my camelback 3.5L bladder pretty well. (Airpods for scale)

Love this bag
Great, well-designed bag. I just read through the few other reviews here though and feel like maybe Gregory needs to include an instruction manual. You definitely CAN open the back compartment completely while having the water bladder installed, you just need to make sure the tube is weaving through the gap in the bottom of the pouch and up the side to the shoulder. There are little guide straps even. It is actually a pretty clever design but without instructions might take a second to figure out.

I wanted to LOVE this bag
Great bag and features, however, I would give this a 5 star if they had more internal organization pockets and made the external helmet carry completely removable. Unless I'm not figuring it out properly, using the helmet carry requires that you keep that pocket open, making it risky to put anything in that pocket while using the helmet carry.

Great Multitasking Winter Pack
I hike and snowshoe, so this pack works differently for my needs than someone who uses it for backcountry skiing. I just “upgraded” my older Targhee 26 to a new one and here are my observations: I LOVE that this pack is made in a high visibility color - my old was orange and new is lava red - I wish there were more high visibility options in all packs. I love the wider hip belt and am glad there is at least one hip belt pocket. The comfort grip zipper pulls are the best! The pocket for the helmet strap is much larger and useable for other stash on the new pack versus my older one. Although the new pack doesn’t have a sunglass quickstow, there is a spot to hang sunglasses or clip on a PLB. The only real negatives for me are that I wish it was easier to attach poles to the pack - the top bungee is greatly improved over my previous Targhee, I just wish there was a better loop solution at the bottom of the pack. The hydration sleeve has a bigger pocket for a bite valve but it’s stitched down, so it’s difficult to get a bite valve in, if at all. The sleeve isn’t as integrated as my old one, so it creates a sort of flap, which is kind of odd and the sternum strap is attached to nylon webbing, which runs under this flap - not ideal. Top access and a side mesh stretch pocket would be nice. And something that could be a major issue is that the top carry strap attaches to the main pack, not the lid, which requires it to cross over the zipper for your avi gear. I feel this could be a real problem in an emergency. This is overall a great pack, that multitasks for several activities and in my opinion, is a must for outdoor winter activities.

Great pockets. Love the little pocket on top for sunscreen, sunglasses, or goggles, A designated pocked for shovel and probe, and a pocket for extra clothes and snacks. Skis strap on in an A-frame.

Great layout and thought out features.
Love the pad in the pack and that every pocket has a purpose. Only downside (and this might be just for the one I got) is that the zippers are tough to open.

Great board/ski pack
This is a well thought out pack for snowboarding and skiing. It can carry skis in diagonal or A frame or a board. The hydration tube is insulated and did not freeze over on me. Avi pocket and I like that the main pocket can be accessed even when your board is strapped on. Very comfortable and low profile enough to wear while lift riding. I only docked it one star was because it does have a weird "squeek" between the stiffening material and cover on the back panel. Most of the time I don't notice it. First Gregory pack I've owned (mostly Ospery or Mystery Ranch) and I'm impressed. B

Great pack
Overall great pack. Very comfortable and perfect for day hike use and back country snowboarding. I used this pack for a day hike and it performed very well. Fit was easy to adjust and did not shift. The only reason this pack is not 5 stars is the main gear compartment is not easily accessible with bladder hose routed through shoulder strap. That is the only complaint I had about this pack. I am very pleased with this pack.

Great backpack. I ski with it a lot. Only thing I wish was different is the internal camelback/hose solution. When you open the main compartment, the hose is in the way. Would be nice if the bladder could be on the part without the straps. Hopefully that makes sense. Otherwise it’s super comfortable and works perfectly for me.
