I got the daypack to replace my 18 year-old black Gregory daypack that didn’t have mesh side pockets for holding water bottles. Otherwise I still love the way my old Gregory daypack fits. First, I was drawn by the color and love the orange. The mesh pockets are perfect. What I didn’t know I was getting - an awesome hydration bladder. It is easy to disassemble and clean. It has an easy close valve to prevent dripping from the mouth piece. There is a magnet close to the mouthpiece that is held by the small magnet placed on the chest strap clip. Then I discovered a tiny bungee type cord that conveniently holds your sunglasses on your shoulder strap. And there is thicker, soft material that was used as a divider in an outer pocket that is nice, but not sure why it’s there. Then there is an outer stretch pocket that is good for stuffing stuff that you may need to grab or stow when getting cold or too warm. Storage pockets on the hip straps are nice for things like lip balm that may be needed on a hike. Possible cons: I am unsure about is the strength of the material. It feels less strong and resilient than my other pack, so time will tell. My old daypack has the main sack and a side zipper for one other pocket. This new one has a lot more compartments. I don’t know if I will like that as much. Again time and adjusting how I do things will tell. Finally, I wish a waterproof cover would have been included. I live in the Pacific Northwest with weather conditions that are ever changing.
