Avos 15L Hydration Backpack

Ready to ride with you, the Gregory Women's Avos 15 Hydration Backpack has your back covered with the space and support necessary to keep up with your obsessive bike habit in all seasons. While this pack can do it all, it does have a streamlined, bike-specific construction that's tailored towards longer, rougher days in the saddle. Starting with the adjustable Shift RS (Ride Stability) suspension system, this pack's hipbelt can be adjusted vertically to ride higher or lower on your back for bounce-free performance on rocky trails, while the EVAP moisture-wicking tech in the backpanel and shoulder straps lock down cool, breathable comfort as you battle uphill sections.

Keeping water consistently close at hand, Gregory included a 3D Hydro reservoir that uses soft-molded QuickDry technology for an anatomical fit on your back, and comes with a magnetically-linked DryLock bite valve for easy sipping. The magnetic sternum strap can be buckled with one hand for on-the-go fit adjustments, while the safety light lash attaches your bike lights for night or urban riding. Rounding things out, a multitude of zippered pockets—along with bike-dedicated organizers for your tire and shock pumps, spare tubes, and energy bars—make sure that all of your mountain bike essentials are safely coming along for the ride.

SO HAPPY/THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED

Got this for hiking in the Grand Canyon/Moab/Bryce/Zion. Great fit- I am 5'3" the adjustable waist belt is much appreciated. The frame design distributes the 3L water weight so that I don't feel it- hiked 7.3 miles today at Arches NP. 3L is plentiful, never ran out during a 4.5 hour hike in the desert. Pockets- so thoughtfully designed with 2 shallow pockets made it easy to find my chapstick/bar/keys so I didn't have to dig all the way to the bottom. Waist belt pockets are great for grabbing or storing stuff while hiking without removing pack- hair ties, empty wrappers, etc. Easily fit a windbreaker, a midweight baselayer, 3 bars, keys, chapstick, spray sanitizer bottle, bag of cashews, bag of brownies, and ended up clipping my hat to the pack. Color- the cobalt Riviera Blue makes me happy! The sunglass holder has perfect placement and is a little stretchy. It is kinda close to the bitevalve when on the magnet which is all the time while hiking so I bumped my sunglasses on the holder when I reached for the bitevalve. But I learned to hold my sunglasses to the side with one hand while removing the bitevalve with the other. For those who remarked about the bitevalve magnet not working or attaching well: 1. put on the pack, clip both waist and chest straps. 2. hold bitevalve with one hand, hold tubing with other hand. 3. twist/rotate bitevalve plug in the tubing until the magnet lines up. That's it. One suggestion: make the waist belt pockets a tiny bit bigger to hold a phone. Overall, I LOVE this hydration pack!

Very comfortable bag with some pretty cool features that sets it apart from other hydro packs. The magnetic piece to hold the bite piece of the hydro tube in place is a cool feature, as well as the pockets in the hip buckles.

Great Little Day pack

I love the pack, I would like a more substantial hip belt on it.

Great pack

This pack was a great day pack my wife loves it and it’s not to big and just the right size for long day hikes.

Awesome pack!

First off: I LOVE THIS PACK! It's durable, great for biking, and (I live in hot Tucson, AZ) the cooler type pack to keep my water cold is such a win! Plenty of places to put things without having to worry about busting your water resivior. My only gripe about this pack is the pack sizing. The length of the back "frame" is non-negotiable and I'm a short little girl so it's easy for me to look up and smack my head/neck into the frame. It hasn't become much of a problem, but I have to be particular in how I fit the rest of the straps and adjust the belt harness so as to avoid this issue. The only change I would make is to have the frame be an adjustable size.

So Comfy, Great Features

Love the fit and feel of this pack, the hipbelt is comfortable and the pockets are big and easy to reach while biking (which is a must). Also LOVE the little tool case that comes with it, easy to stash some bike tools as well as some medical kit stuff in there, and then easy to move from pack to pack too. Pockets at the top of the pack are super nice, one of them is felt-lined which is awesome for sunglasses! The 3D-Hydro 3L bladder is amazinggggg. Huge capacity and minimal "sloshing", very easy to move it from pack to pack between my Avos and then a few Jade's (obviously I love Gregory packs lol). Like that the mouthpiece is an easy bite and that it LOCKS! Huge plus, because I'm so tired of other ones leaking when the mouthpiece ends up squished somewhere in the car.

Not Just For Biking

For years I relied on another brands pack for day hiking and mountain biking. Last year, I picked up a Juno 24 and I loved it, but that size is a little large for some activities. I just started using the AVOS 15…it’s really versatile! This past month I’ve put it through the paces with several mountain bike rides at my local trail (DTE Foundation Winn Loop) and a trip through the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone with over 65 miles of dedicated day hiking in elevation. Let me tell you about the break in process-there wasn’t one. I would have expected to see some strap burn on my shoulders, particularly when I had the pack strapped for an eight hour hike on Paintbrush Canyon in the Tetons, but there was no issues at all. Even with filling the large, 3L bladder that was included, the weight of the pack didn’t shift or feel uncomfortable. This also held true with mountain biking. Even with hours perched forward on the frame, no issues. Having side pockets was really nice. The pack I have used in the past for biking was a vest style. Having the waistband pockets was convenient and allowed me to easily transition the pack to day hiking. My iPhone 12 fit easily into one side pocket, which is ideal for me on trail. I keep a knife and snacks in the other pocket. I’ve been waitlisted forever for a decent bike rack, and in order to take my bike out to play, I have to remove the front wheel. I was super stoked that this pack included a pouch for tools. Now I can easily find that one allen wrench that I always need! This pack has already seen some temperature extremes, from 30 degree nights to a memorable 100 degree day. Having the mesh in the back protected me from getting overly sweaty in the heat. That same liner prevented my freezing cold water from directly contacting my back when the temp dropped at night. All around this is a solid pack and I can’t wait to have more adventures in it!
