A glance at the periodic table will tell you that Xenon the element is heavier than oxygen, but 30 seconds in Gore Bike Wear's Xenon Men's Jersey will tell you otherwise. Its oversized mesh panels at the back and sleeve make you feel as if you're not wearing anything at all, while the welded seams forego traditional stitching to make the jersey lighter, sleeker, and more comfortable. Gore designed the Xenon to fit tightly, too, so you slice through the wind like a buttered seal through the waves, and gave it a full-length front zipper to offer you unlimited ventilation possibilities. The body is made from a supportive and comfortable blend of nylon and elastane, while the dropped rear hem has an elastic gripper to prevent slippage. Topping the Xenon off are 360-degree reflective details and a four-pocket system—three drop-in and one zippered—to keep gels, tools, and water bottle within easy reach.

Hi, I'm 5'8" 163lbs with a 40" chest. The XL fits me perfect. I don't like my jerseys skin tight, so the xl is just right. I live in south texas, so it gets pretty hot. This jersey is my go to jersey on hot days. It Keeps you cool and breathes exceptionally well.

has really short sleeves, which i enjoy. great lightweight jersey for summer riding. the back is mesh and vents well. the back of jersey is a little long. i recommend this jersey.

    Love the nylon

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Very cool, even in hot, humid Hawaii. Very short sleeves, make sure to use sunscreen at the (new) sun border. Zipper is not very strong, but I'd buy again (just did).

    Short sleeves

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

The fit is great and proper aero tight. The zipper connection arrangement would likely be troublesome to re-attach whilst riding however, and the back is fully transparent mesh, even on the black/red version I bought. You can clearly see white bib straps right through on the back. I have these peculiar bulges on my upper arms (biceps) that the designers failed to envision, and the sleeves fit me terribly. They're super short and bunch up at my armpits. Even if you are a skinny-armed weakling they're still quite short by the modern longer skinsuit inspired sleeves of most high-end jerseys these days. But for the sleeves, this is an excellent jersey.

    feels nice

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

85% nylon, 15% elastine and it feels nice. gore took care to add extra features like a zipper protector to avoid chaffing too. excellent breathability with mesh in all the right places. I'm 5'10.5", 162 lbs and I ordered the L, but to be honest it is a tad on baggy side. I think the M would have been too tight though. hth.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The best part is the incredible breathability. With a (super duper sweat evaporating) base layer (Outwet) and a regular Jersey, I have to open up the Jersey on long climbs. With this one, I keep everything zipped up and never feel too warm (or too cold at the beginning of a ride). The mesh on the back is superb.

    Best jersey I've ever worn

I bought two of these - one black and one in white. The black is made with coldblack technology and is supposed to be cooler to touch than standard black fabrics. I tested this out on two rides that were on days upwards of 95 degrees. The coldblack really works. I did an unscientific test, though, placing a meat thermometer underneath the fabrics after laying them out in the sun and the white was a few degrees cooler. But, you will look way awesomer in the black kit and intimidate your rivals because you are brave enough to wear black.

The mesh on the back is outstanding. As soon as you develop a little bit of sweat and have the least bit of airflow, the ventilation is very noticeable. The jersey makes it feel like you're riding in weather 10 degrees cooler.

The rear pockets are deeper than most jerseys and your items will sit lower on your back than other jerseys. It felt a little weird at first.

The fit is definitely made for a slim build. I am 5'11", 147 lbs, 38"chest, 31" waist, no excess belly. The medium fit perfectly. Usually, my jerseys either have 4 inches of extra material in the chest area, or the jersey is too short. The front is nicely scalloped so it does not bunch up when you are in position on the bike. However, when standing upright, it will look like it's too short in the front.

The texture of the fabric is outstanding and it is comfortable enough to wear as a shirt. This is usually not the case with me for most synthetic materials. After a race, I don't change out of the jersey because it breathes and wicks so well that it aids in cool-down by keeping it on.

If you ride more than once a week, you'll definitely want to get more than one kit because you will not want to wear anything else.

Do you know how this would perform if riding in a hot, humid or drenching wet environment? I want a quick drying and cooling jersey, but one that won't chafe or lose it's performance qualities when wet.
