Developed for long and demanding rides.

Part of Gore's XENON collection of race-oriented apparel, the Gore Bike Apparel Men's XENON 2.0 RACE+ Bib Shorts cater to serious cyclists seeking the utmost in fit and function for grueling distance efforts and high-cadence training rides. Highly functional materials ensure the best in long-distance comfort, with full mesh bibs actively venting your mid-section and upper body. Slightly compressive fabric promotes support and stability across key muscle groups.

The XENON Men seat insert alleviates saddle pressure so you can perform your best for miles of high-octane training. Transfer print graphics inside the hem prevent the bottom legs from migrating throughout your ride. Also, the hem's flat bottom lies flush to prevent it from uncomfortably digging into your skin. Shifted seams combat chafing when you're pushing your limits on strenuous climbs and all-out sprints. And to keep you visible after dark, the reflective front and rear logos enhance safety when you're riding at dawn and dusk hours. They come with a separate bag to prevent undue damage in the wash cycle.

Great price at Backcountry for good bibs

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these for $130 in spite of reading some bad reviews and glad I did. I am 5'10" 180Lb and got size large. I do not think they are too tight, and have 3 giordana bibs that are tighter. Maybe some guys complaining about this are just pulling them on wrong, but they did loosen up a bit after 1 use and wash. They are cool on hot days and have very good chamois, which is why I bought them. These are my new go-to bibs

Good, but Gore does better for less $

I am a huge fan of Gore's Oxygen bibs. The current model of the Oxygens is quite possibly the best set of bibs I've ever owned. Overall fit - including the bib straps and the compression on the shorts themselves - is top notch and the chamois has (for me) the perfect shape and level of padding.

Saw these Xenons on freaky sale so decided to grab a pair. I figured they must be like the Oxygens, but turned up to 11.

The Xenons are... OK. The material feels much flimsier than the Oxygens, which for me has meant two things: 1) the compression in the thigh muscles is seriously lacking, and 2) the chamois shifts around like crazy. They also tend to get worse throughout the course of a several-hour ride, becoming noticeably baggier and less compressive.

The chamois is definitely nice (an an extra layer of foam in the sit bone areas makes it a bit denser, but is otherwise identical to the Oxygen chamois), but it shifts around so much it's hard to consistently notice the advantage.

    Tight and Sheer

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

I am 5'7" and 145lbs. Like almost every other brands I've worn (Sugoi, Castelli, Sportful), I bought the size small shorts. These shorts are definitely a race-cut. They fit snug and give a compressive feel throughout the entire ride. Not too contracting, but enough to feel tightly packed in. However, the back panel of the bibs are quite sheer. Riders behind didn't appreciate seeing my butt crack through the material. Needless to say, this is the only time your buddy's don't mind you sitting in and wheel sucking for the day.

The material is very comfortable to wear for the day and the chamois is top-notch. Other than the sheer back panel, this is an excellent bib-short.

    Not Impressed.

For the cost I'm surprised with the lack of quality. The chamois felt very good and seriously padded but then I noticed the stitching.. sloppy and coming apart with threads hanging. The material isn't very soft.. probably the roughest feeling material I've ever felt on any kit. Ok, so I decided to try them on anyway - and I couldn't get them up past my knees. I'm 139 lbs. and I wear a small in just about any brand, but not with these. They were very tiny. It didn't really matter since the overall quality, poor stitching and rough material wouldn't have worked for my anyhow.

    Tags are still huge ...

I"m old. I'm also fat. I still love riding, but I overheat quickly, so wearing kit that breathes and wicks sweat away quickly is of key importance to me. Compression is also key in a good pair of shorts.

So far, I've only used these items on the trainer, as it's a bit too cold outside for shorts, but I'm digging it so far.

Only quibble is the rather large tags along one of the seams; this was my issue with the previous version of these bibs, and hasn't changed. The tags aren't tearaway, so if they bug you, you have to very carefully cut the tags or threads holding the tags without cutting the actual seam threads at the same time. Not the easiest thing to do on a Lycra garment.

    Really wanted to love these

So this would have been my first premium bib purchase, as of right now I'm riding with two different Castelli Velocissimo bibs that have been adequate for the job. When I got this bib in the mail, the materials used looked pretty premium, the chamois looked amazing and I was pretty excited to get ride with them on to see how comfortable they would have been. So my next step was to try them on to see how these bibs fit: slipped them on and as I put the shoulder straps on (Very soft material on the shoulder straps btw) the seams started to split on the edge around the part that comes around the belly (The u section on the front). Now although this ripping could have not really made a difference in how the bib performed on rides, I found it unacceptable and decided to return. I know I'm a big guy but the bibs fit great otherwise, and I don't have a big gut that would have caused the ripping.

Other than that issue the bibs seemed great, I just wish I could have put them through the ringer.
