Welcome frosty flow trail into your rides.

When the temperatures start to dip you might find your digits feeling frosty on long, flowy descents. Offer them a step up from your lightweight summer glove with the Gore Bike Wear Universal Gore Windstopper Mid Glove, with elevated protection and a little extra warmth to get you through the shoulder seasons. The Universal Gore WindStopper Mid Glove slices through icy breezes easily, thanks to its wind-proof and water-resistant membrane, and polyester fabric backs things up with durable and soft support. The glove is reinforced cross the palm, thumb, and forefinger that adds extra grip, so you don't slip if things get a bit wet or frosty, and silicone tipped fingers offer both extra grip for shifting and braking, and touch-screen compatibility, so you can text your crew some happy-snaps of your ride to rub it in when a couple of grey clouds kept them indoors.

    • Polyester shell stands up to branches and abuse

Not long enough, or warm enough.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

2X is usually long enough in the fingers and I was hoping the 3X would give me some more room in the fingers, it seems shorter in the fingers than most 2X gloves. I road when it was 37 degrees and the gloves were not close to being warm enough. Maybe that is why they were on sale.

    Did the job

These gloves were exactly as advertised. Quality product and workmanship, runs a little snug but excellent product all around.

    A note about sizing

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

If you're like me, you measure yourself when deciding which size to order based on the manufacturers sizing guide. I decided on a size L and ordered, but they are too small and here's why. Unless you want the glove to be taught across the palm (you don't), you have to follow their measuring directions but add a step, to wit: Make sure your measuring tape lays across your palm like you'd want the glove to fit. This makes measuring more difficult and is probably why Gore Bike Wear didn't mention it in their size guide measuring directions.

Gloves are great can't wait to try them but XL was pretty tight. Hard to get on & off and tighter than I like on hands. My hand measures 9 1/4. Ordering XXL

Stay Frosty My Five Friends...ok, 10....

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Gloves are awesome. Used them for the last 4 months. Bought a size small and usually wear a 7 or 8 size in mens gloves. True to size. A few corrections to the BC.Com description.
    1. Not touch screen compatible.
    2. Not insulated.
They are warm, due to a sparse amount of inside fleece here and there. But I would't call them insulated. I would still consider them warm though. I used these, down to 30 degrees. Below that, i would use a heavy insulated glove, or opt for what I do. I throw on some ibex wool liners and use these as over gloves in temps down to 5 degrees. Due to the Gore Windstopper fabric, once you are rolling, your hands heat up nicely. They block 100 percent of the wind, as well as keep those 10 friends wrapped around your drops, safe, from the dreaded winter battle with windchill. I have used these for multiple 60 plus mile rides in 20 to 40 and as stated, once you get your blood pumping, stay very warm, but never to clammy. The higher wrist cuff is a welcomed feature and sits nicely under your long sleeve jersey or rain cape. These will be fine in light snow or rain, but will wet out after about 30 minutes in constant precipitation.

    Nice, but not touchscreen compatible!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Hate to give these gloves a mediocre review, but I just received them and have not worn them on a ride because I am returning them. They seem very comfortable and are not bulky. I was really looking forward to using them, but there's one deal breaker... they are not touchscreen compatible, which is one reason I bought them. The description on Backcountry is incorrect for these gloves (and perhaps other Gore gloves). Nowhere even on Gore's site does it claim that these gloves are touchscreen friendly. Customer service has been alerted and hope that they adjust the description.
