Warm up to winter.
The fleece-lined Gore Bike Wear Power Trail WS SO Jacket extends your singletrack season well into late fall or even early winter. The windproof Windstopper main body fabric is extremely breathable to allow your body to regulate its temperature naturally while it fights off Mother Nature’s insidious attacks. The jacket’s anatomic cut is designed to drape comfortably on the bike and off, so you can wear the Power Trail jacket during your ride and at the pub for your post-ride beer.
Due to the effectiveness of the WindStopper membrane, Gore has included a strategically placed venting zipper and two front ventilation zippers with integrated zippered pockets in order to give you the ability to moderate your temperature. Perhaps the only detail that gives the Power Trail jacket away as a cycling piece is the zippered pocket on the back. There's also a zippered Napoleon pocket on the left breast and small cloth for cleaning your eyewear. The tail is cut a tad longer in order to accommodate your position on the bike, and the lower hem and sleeve cuffs are bound with a simple and comfortable Lycra band. Reflective elements on the shoulders, back, and forearms will also increase your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.

Can be a bit too toasty
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
- Height: 5'7"
- Weight: 150lbs
I bought this jacket for NorCal winters because my cycling vest with arm warmers doesn't cut it anymore once it gets into the 40F range. I commute with the jacket and a backpack and find that my back is super sweaty on the way home when the temperature is in the 50s, but in the morning the amount of sweat that pools is tolerable. I haven't tried cycling with it on without a backpack in the 50s, so who knows what sweat levels will be without the backpack on. I also wish it had more vents than the two they give you where the pockets are because I find that it simply doesn't allow enough air in. Overall, I'm happy with the product and can wear it around work without looking like a dweeb walking around in cycling clothes.
Sizing is the problem
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
This jacket is extremely well made and has all the features that I was looking for in a mountain/gravel biking jacket for colder weather in the midwest. I ordered the red XXL with the help of the sizing charts and this jacket ended up skin tight at the chest. I have an XXL Gore Windstopper vest and it fits a bit loose, so I figured this would be close in size due to it being a more form fit. This problem is not just with Gore but the entire bicycling clothing industry, their sizes are difficult to deal with. Other than the sizing issue this jacket is a beauty and wish it would have fit.
Warm, versatile, stylish
Great jacket, so glad I bought it. Seems to run true to size. I have used it cycling, running, and around town. It's reasonably thick and quite warm. Road today in heavy rain in 40F temps and my top/core was perfect temp because of this jacket. (Just need some better gloves and shoe covers).
