    Breathe.

Nothing is as miserable as feeling the air warm and stale around you on a hot summer climb when your lower back feels like it’s wrapped in a spa towel and you're sitting on a chamois that’s not much better. The Gore Bike Wear Oxygen 2.0 Bibs+ Shorts vent more air to the areas in need and pull stagnant moisture away from your skin to keep you cool. The Oxygen Men chamois moves with you in the pedal stroke to reduce chaffing and is constructed from a polyester blend to keep you dry for all-day comfort.

    Excellent, excellent bibs.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 180lbs

I am a huge fan of Gore's Oxygen bibs. The current model is quite possibly the best set of bibs I've ever owned. Overall fit - including the bib straps and the compression on the shorts themselves - is top notch and the chamois has (for me) the perfect shape and level of padding.

I also have a pair of Gore Xenons, but for my money, the Oxygens are much better. The fabric on the Oxygens is more substantial, which seems to equate to better compression and less shifting of the chamois. IMO, don't bother with the Xenons, just grab a pair of these.

    Excellent patterning and chamois

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I'm extremely happy with these, even more than the Partial Thermo bibs I own (which are a much warmer version). The 2.0 bibs fit closely to my body, and breathe exceptionally well due to super light fabrics. The bib straps stay out of the way of my pecs and don't chafe. Most importantly, I find the EIT chamois to work the best for me, and I no longer get saddle sores! I would absolutely recommend these for the athletic body and I'm looking for another pair!

Nice Design but Sizing is Screwy

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

I am 5'5", 125lbs. and w/ a 29" waist. Castelli bibs in a size Small generally fit me best (for most other brands I need a sz. XS if they’re available and if the bib straps aren’t too tight). So it came as a big surprise that in a sz. Small these bibs (which are supposed to be for a 29-31" waist) were so tight that I could barely get them past my calves (they fit waay tighter than the XS Bontrager I own). Once I muscled them on the lycra was so stretched out that they were sorta see-through, the seams looked ready to burst, and forget trying to move them around a bit to get the chamois positioned just right. Very strange experience for me!

I then returned these and tried the sz. Medium which fit 2-3 sizes larger than the Small (close to a real "medium" vs. the totally skewed XXS fit of the Small). Unfortunately these were way too loose fitting for my skinny frame, so these too are going back too.

Otherwise, for bibs sometimes discounted close to $100 these have some nice higher-end features: a great looking multi-layer/density chamois (apparently an EIT that’s well-ventilated), soft/airy mesh straps with a unique doubled-over "tunnel" design, and a soft microfiber lined “wind protective cup” that provides perhaps a bit more room "for the boys" (though not anything close to what Assos provides on most of their current models).

However, I’m not a fan of a few other features: the 3” doubled-over hems instead of separate leg bands (a P.I. model using this approach did not hold very well and was very sweat-inducing), the lycra material feels kinda rough (vs. the “luxurious” feel of the lycra on most other mid/high-end bib models these days…though I doubt this will be noticed much during a ride), and the design is rather boring ("if I can no longer ride fast I may as well look mahvelous?").

NOTE TO GORE: Please fix the huge size jump between the Small (which fits like an XXS) and the Medium (which fits like most other brand's "Mediums"). As it is I am between this huge size jump and can't enjoy the unique design of these bibs..

Excellent Chamois, Runs A Bit Small

    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 160lbs

This pad is a bit on the firmer side compared to Giordana and Specialized which I like. So far, this is my favorite Chamois.

Runs a little small. I fit a Large in Giordana and a Medium in Specialized. My waist is in the realm of 32.5. I can just barely squeeze into the Gore shorts. Fit issues are due to tightness around the thighs rather than the waist, however. I guess I have track thighs versus the typical road girth?

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS! Wash separately before first use or with other black garments. Bleeds black dye for the first few washings. I ruined one of my favorite white jerseys...

    My best pair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 160lbs

I bought it in the winter time for rides below 40 degrees. They made a huge difference, are super comfortable and of superior quality. I am now riding them in the summer as well, and I don't have the feeling they don't breathe as well as any of my other bibs from various other brands. Great bibs, will buy more.

    Pro bibs.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 144lbs

I've gone through all the "pro" level from most of the best brands. These are my favorite bibs yet. I own 4! Great design to prevent shoulder straps from digging in or annoying skin. Seat pad is top notch; all the cush you could want covered with a comfy anti-bacterial fabric. Perfect length (no change in tan line from Castelli rosa corsa team kit) and the they grip in place without any gripper-grabbing.

I'm trying to determine what "True to size" means for you vs. the sizing chart (so that I can see if a small might work for me). What is your waist and hip size (i.e., a medium is supposedly for a 31-33" waist and a 35.75-37.75" hip)?

    Great Cycling Bibs

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I'm 5'7" 165 lbs and I ordered the medium. The bibs fit great and the quality is on par with the higher end of cycling shorts. They're probably just a step or two down from Assos and maybe a half or full step down from Pearl Izumi's PRO line. These have become though my favorite cycling bibs. Very comfortable and supportive. I ride both road and mountain bike using these bibs and they perform very well. No hot spots or rubbing in the wrong areas. The chamois is does a great job balancing comfort with road feel. The only down side would be the emblems peeled off fairly quickly. I might have washed them 3 or 4 times and the Gore Bike emblems peeled completely off. I thought the shorts would not last very long but instead the bibs have remained serviceable, comfortable, and very supportive. Overall, except for the peeling emblems, my favorite cycling bibs.

    Great Cycling Bibs

    Great bib, runs small

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: L
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 155lbs

Gore runs small and I usually get Ms, but these bibs are even smaller, and a L fit me perfectly. I've used it for a few hundred miles, and the chamois is comfortable and doesn't move around.

    Very Comfortable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 170lbs

They run a bit small so I would size up. I've worn Pearl Izumi and Sugoi and these are just as comfortable and cost less. The material didn't seam stretchy at first but it supports very good. I rode a 65 miler and century and felt great. I never noticed any saddle sore or movement in the padding.

I would order them again and recommend...

    Very comfortable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

This bib shorts are by far the most comfortable shorts (and great quality too!) I own. I usually spend 2-3.5 hours per exercise. They run small but they will fit you like they were custom-made for you. I would recommend these shorts.

    Gore! What more to say?

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 172lbs

These were recommended by Joe T. I have a pair of Specialized bibs and they are great but, the Gore's take it up a level. They are comfortable and fit snugly around the thighs, almost like they are squeezing them. I put these on and road an hour indoors on ZWIFT. Padding was supple and did not produce any sore spots. I did not experience any rubbing or chaffing at all. Well done GORE!
