Fight the bitter chill of winter.

Let the Gore Bike Wear Gore Windstopper Thermo Jacket take you on rides long after the temperate autumn riding season has turned into the bitter chill of winter. Gore's designers built the Gore WS Thermo jacket to keep you toasty, thanks to its wind-splitting WindStopper membrane and plush fleece lining that traps heat inside, so you can feel battle-ready and resilient when frosty storms blow your way. The jacket features an anatomic cut designed to comfortably fit both on and off the bike, with room for layering underneath, so you can adjust to the perfect outfit for the day's weather.

The Gore WindStopper Thermo Jacket has three-layer construction, sandwiching WindStopper membrane between its outer polyester fabric, and inner bonded fleece. The outermost shell is treated with a DWR coating to keep water rolling off, so you're not just protected from the wind, and underneath the WindStopper membrane maintains breathability while it acts as an impenetrable barrier to wind. Against your skin is a bonded, low-pile fleece that traps heat within its fibers while pulling perspiration outwards to dry quickly and keep you from getting wet and clammy when a sweaty, grueling climb lets onto a fast descent.

    • A jacket for dipping temps and breezy days
    • DWR coated polyester shell cuts through water
    • WindStopper membrane shields from the wind
    • Plush fleece lining wicks away sweat and traps heat
    • 2 hand pockets for stashing away essentials
    • Reflective details add low light visibility
    • Regular cut passes on the bike and at dinner

    Great Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: xxl
    • Height: 6'
    • Weight: 220lbs

Jacket is great super warm, blocks wind ver effectively. Gets a little warm at 50 degrees, especially in the arms...but great down to high 30s. Very relaxed fit, great for bigger cyclists. No back pockets, weird for gear, great for wearing after a ride though

    Perfect Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'1"

Bought this jacket for its windproof and thermal protection wore it on a 40 degree windy day jacket protected me had a dry fit tee and a Kurcharik wool bike jersey on underneath felt very comfortable jacket also breaths very well I got a size large bought this jacket also because it has side pockets my last jacket did not have side pockets the side pockets allow me to take off my gloves and keep my hands warm by using the pockets. Would recommend this jacket.

    EXCELLENT Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm really happy with this jacket. The outside has smooth texture, typical of a soft-shell jacket. The inside is fleece with a "waffle pattern" that will no doubt be warm on cold, windy days. I would call this jacket "medium weight" Gore Windstopper is excellent and this jacket won't disappoint.

Can't wait to get some winter miles in.

I love that this jacket is warm and light, without being bulky. Breaks the wind like a champ, and is making these winter rides possible. Would highly recommend.

    Perfect for what I'm after.

Winter commuting--check. Snowbiking--check. Winter mountain biking--check. After ride coffee or ale--check. I've used this in temps in the teens up to the 40's varying what I have as base layers and I can generally get pretty good temperature regulation. Unlike more waterproof shell-type exteriors, I think this breathes a little better. If I'm high exertion, I won't say I'm not sometimes generating a sweat, but even in that case, I'm a zipper pull away from dumping heat. I've got a couple different winter riding outer shells and this has become my most oft reached for jacket. For me, its not roady-aero-skin-hugging tight which is fine as I'm rarely trying to set a personal best on on a long road ride. And the slightly casual cut means I can ride to work or the grocery store or into squatters and not look like I just finished the TDF.

    Great commuting jacket!

I bought this jacket for commuting by bike, and it's great for that. Very warm (I live near Washington DC) and I like the fit. Maybe runs a tad large, but sometimes I'm wearing 3 layers, so it's probably just the right size. The Goretex is great. Not having rear pockets makes me look less geeky when I have to go out between work hours, although it would be nice to have for longer rides. You can't have everything.

Great For Early Morning Mountain Biking

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I get up at 4:00 3 times a week before getting ready for work. Living in the Tucson desert it does occasionally get cold (mid-20's) in the morning. (I realize it could be far worse like back east or up north). This jacket, along with a thermal long sleeve undershirt and shirt, is plenty to stay warm and it blocks the wind. I'm 6'2", 185 lbs and since I layer, the XXL is the perfect size.

    Bueno!

I wore this jacket within minutes of opening the box from CC--on a dog walk. Finally found a nice athletic multi-purpose club-fit thermal jacket. I've also used it for jogging. This is what Castelli should copy for their "cross warm-up" jackets. Good fit on the bike and while standing. Will fit over thermal jerseys, has nice hand warmer pockets, long arms, and good cuffs. Sparse but classy reflective elements. Left-hand zipper with a silly zipper garage.

Great Cold weather Jacket everything I was looking for. It’s warm, wind proof and waterproof. I am a weightlifter the jacket fit as I expected. Snug through chest shoulders and back. Loose through lower torso and waist but everything usually does the way i’m Built. All and all my Favorite cold weather riding jacket!

    Great commuting jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

This is exactly what I was looking for to commute to work in the Winter. Runs a tad big, but if you're out for comfort and function, this fits the bill - especially if you're layering up for Winter riding.

    Good stuff!

This jacket does run a little large for cycling. I am a 5’10” Clydesdale and ordered an XL. It fits great for commuting or wearing around town. This is not as tight fitting like other brands, even with a base layer and extra thermal layer. It is plenty warm. I only wear a non-thermal base layer under it for anything above freezing. This jacket is a little longer in the back for having perfect crack coverage for commuting. However, it’s the perfect length for off the bike as well.

      Appears to be very warm

Not for speed freaks. Runs large. I wear a 41 and ordered an XL which felt like XXL. Luckily Dan at CC arranged for an exchange to a L easily thru chat session.
