    Embrace the elements.

We've all been out on a late autumn ride and realized that we'd tried to extend bib short season a little too long. Numb skin and an unshakable chill for the remainder of the day are usually required payment for the mistake. Hopefully we've caught you before this fate has already befallen you this season; to make sure it doesn't, we'd highly recommend adding the Gore Bike Wear Men's Element 2.0 Thermo Bib Tight to your winter cycling drawer.

Made with a stretchy, supportive blend of nylon and elastane, the Element 2.0 comes cut to follow a form-fitting silhouette that stabilizes your muscles over hours in the saddle. The soft brushed lining maintains a lofted layer of warmth next to your skin, while the fabric continues to pull moisture away from your skin to evaporate at the surface as you heat up on a climb. While the main body of the tight isn't impervious to moisture and wind, Gore does add a panel from the back to lower abdomen of the tight that shields against wheel spray and wind — a welcome addition on wetter days.

The Element 2.0's light, flexible mesh bib is as unobtrusive as that on your favorite pair of summer bibs, and the Element Men chamois adds welcome cushion and support whether you're grinding out winter base miles or braving the cold for a quick spin, just to get out of the house.

    • Cold-weather cycling tight for your chilliest rides
    • Form-fitting silhouette and articulated knees move with you
    • Brushed thermal fabric adds warmth and insulation
    • Wind- and water-resistant panels protect against wheel spray
    • Airy, moisture-wicking mesh bib lends lightweight support

    Little disappointed

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Bought these bib tights about a month ago and have used them for 5 rides, ~125 miles. Already starting to see some pilling and wear around the seat of the tights which is disappointing for how new they are and the fact that I followed the care instructions. I've had a pair of Performance Bike's house brand thermal tights for a couple years now which were cheaper and have held up better which surprised me.

I will say these bib tights do fit great, are comfortable, and warm to about 40F but not much lower.

    So far so good...

    • Fit: True to size

These bib tights have done the job for the few cold fall rides this season. The fit is very good -- perhaps a little long in the leg (I'm 5'9", 155 lbs, size M) but that hasn't been a problem. Plenty warm enough for temps around 40F. Wish the cuffs had a zipper, but that's simply a personal preference. I'd recommend these.

UPDATE -- The more I use these, the more I like them.

Bought on sale and would've paid more

I got tired of not being efficient in my layering during this winter so I ordered these once I saw they were on sale. The pad is as comfortable as my usual race shorts, the material breaths so you don't overheat but you don't freeze. I rode in 40-degree weather and was comfortable. I didn't feel like the material was restricting or bunching anywhere and I had no problem moving through the full range of motion. I really have no complaints. I haven't seen any fraying from the wash or use.
