Great gloves
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- XXL
- Height
- 6` 3"
- Weight
- 180 lbs
I haven’t worn these yet but they look bombproof. Very thick and warm with 2 cinches at and below the wrist to keep cold and precip out that are easy to operate. The gloves have a looped leash inside that goes around your wrist and makes it easy to take off the gloves and not worry about dropping them. I bought XXL since they run small and I normally wear XL. Aside from the bulk of the XXL size, they fit well. They are not terribly flexible so certain functions like gripping a trekking pole could be problematic. On initial impression if I was a climber to very cold elevations, these gloves would be my pick. Recommend particularly if you can buy them for $40.

Great all-around winter glove, fabric and design didn't disappoint. Save yourself an unsolicited exchange, however, and nail the right size from the onset: SIZE UP. According to the size chart provided at the time of this writing, the gloves would be considered to run small (by most folks, myself included). Find your size and add 1 and you'll be in business (if you're a size Medium, order a Large with this glove--assuming you truly are a Medium to begin with). After the exchange, all's well that ends well!

How warm are these gloves? Will they hold up to Midwestern winter temps?

The Gordini GTX Storm Trooper II Glove - Men's is rated as one of their warmest gloves because it has a polyester Megaloft® insulation that keeps you dry and warm. I think these would be great for in-bounds skiing in the Medwest.
