    Harness the sun.

You may be miles from an outlet, but with the rugged Goal Zero Venture 30 Solar Recharging Kit, you can keep your phone juiced even on the roughest adventures. This weatherproof recharger withstands harsh conditions and can take a beating so you never have to be apprehensive about taking it into the field, and it has enough capacity to charge your phone and tablet so you can stay connected even when you're far from home.

The recharger can be charged up in just five hours through the USB port, so you can have it pre-charged before you even leave home, and then once you've used up all the juice you can simply plug in the solar panel and recharge it in another eight to 16 hours. A 65 lumen light on the recharger makes it easy to see what you're doing in the dark. The solar panel is also chainable so you can boost capacity by linking up your other Goal Zero solar panels. Whether you're following a trail or forging a new one, stay powered up with the Venture 30.

    Pretty Handy Gadget

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We were tired of our small devices (speakers, phones, rechargeable batteries) running out of power on long camping trips...so we got this handy solar charger. We have only used it a handful of times, but it's already surprised us with it's ease of use, multiple connections, small size and fairly lightweight and compact design. Multiple USB ports for charging your various devices, battery pack to charge for later use when the sun isn't shining. The solar panel also has loops around the outside of it to be able to hang the panel in various locations to maximize your exposure to the sun. All zips up into handy integrated stow pouch. Pretty great gadget to have around.

    So far, so good

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just got this charger/solar panel. I love the idea of having this piece of gear as we've all been in BFE and drained power from whatever device we're using (phone, 'boom box', etc). It's going to live in my bug out bag/truck...it's compact and lightweight.

It's really easy to use, adapts to multiple devices, deploys easily and actually works. I can't wait to use this during an upcoming Moab camping trip.

    Take it everywhere!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I take this thing everywhere possible. I like to do a lot of traveling and camping and this thing is a must. Especially if you love taking photos and using your laptop while camping. It charges anything with a lot of different port options!

    Solar charger

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just used this on a trip and found it of very good quality. I charged while connected to the solar panel at the same time it's recharging. I also can use it at home if the power goes out to charge the phone.

    Bombproof power

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love my Goal Zero Venture 30 kit. It has the ability to recharge any electronic device that I may be talking with me quickly and fully. At 7800 mAh, I can get 3 full charges of my phone on one charge of the Venture 30. For most weekend trips I leave the solar panel at home and just take the battery. On longer outings, the solar panel is great at topping off any juice you use out of the battery. A couple of the features that I have found to be really convenient are the Smart Charge feature that allows you to customize the output for each of the two 2.4 amp outputs to get the fastest charge for your specific device and the fact that it is waterproof. While I wouldn't go swimming with it, I never worry about putting it in a separate container or if the rain decides to start while I'm out with it. The built in micro USB cable is a nice addition and works great for everything except Samsung phones with the charging port cover. Due to the way this opens and the direction of the micro USB in the cord, they just don't quite fit. If you own a Galaxy phone you'll probably want to bring a regular cord. Other than that, the Venture 30 has been a perfect companion for all my off grid adventures.
