Good battery pack
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Easily charged 2 Garmins and a Samsung S10 during a bikepacking trip. The "charge optimizer" function seems legit. Only complaint is that the built-in USB cable isn't very sturdy.

Plenty of power
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Charges pretty quickly and holds enough power for a couple full phone charges! Great piece of mind to have an extra charge when traveling in the backcountry.

Works Great!
Gives a few good charges to your Iphone on one charge. Charge pack from a wall outlet versus a car charger when possible. Takes much longer charging from a car.

Goal Zero Venture 30
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
So far a good buy for backpacking. Fairly quick charge for phone and watch. Love that it can work outdoors in wet conditions. The flashlight is a nice touch which makes for a good backup light source. I highly recommend.

Lots of power.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I have used this once on a trip and it took up only 25% to fully charge my phone. So far I'm happy with it. I'm not sure how I will like the weight on longer backpacking trips, though.

Durable & Reliable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Weatherproof and durable so I can throw it in a bag with gear and not worry. Simple to use, charges my phone faster than when I charge it in my car. A must have for any rugged adventurer.

Battery on the Go
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
If you are looking for a battery pack that will give you a couple charges on your various devices this is a great option. Pair this with a GZ solar panel and you have a expedition charging station that will rival anything else out on the market. I like the cord that is also included because it stays stowed for use in really sandy environments when charging ports can get clogged.

Easy for travel
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I bought these for my parents, who are going on a trip to Kilimanjaro. They tested these initially and said that they should be perfect for keeping their phones charged to take photos. They aren't super light, but they take up little room for the power they pack.

Worked Great!
I used this on a seven day pack trip to charge two cell phones and two head lamps, we never ran out of charge.

Great battery bank
It is a super compact, for itâs power, battery bank. The only problem is that the cable between the micro and usb ports might short causing it to charge itâs self but goal zero will replace the cable and it might stop on a hard/soft reset.

Great Portable Charger
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I think this is a great power source for traveling. It's lightweight, compact, and stores a good amount of power. I paired this with the nomad 7 solar panel and have been liking the versatility that they offer!

My new go-to charger
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
It’s light, compatible w the solar (which I will eventually buy) and it lasted 5 days in the grand canyon (unused) but then it was still able to charge a phone on the last day. So the power lasted.

Good Battery With One Significant Flaw
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've had this battery for over a year and overall it's pretty good; however, there is one problem that really bothers me. I get it all charged up before I leave on a trip and when I go to use the battery for the first time on the trip it's empty. What I've noticed is, when I charge it (micro USB plugged into the unit and the USB plugged into the wall) there is no problem and it holds it's charge, but when I unplug the USB from the wall and plug it back into the unit it essentially tries to charge itself. It gives no indication it's dissipating all of its power other than it heats up. If I leave one end unplugged it seems to be okay. I have no idea if this is a common problem that many people are experiencing or if it's just me. It didn't do this for the first 5 or 6 months I was using it. That being said, it's still usable and it will charge my phone and GPS watch about 1.5 to 2 times each on one battery.

Goal Zero
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've used this all over. The attached charging cable is great. I primarily use it for my Iphone 7, GoPro and camera. Easy to carry, doesn't get damaged in the rain at all. Haven't had any issues with extreme cold or hot temperatures. It's easily powered electronics for multi-day trips at full charge. I haven't noticed a significant difference in charging one device at a time vs. multiple devices. Goal Zero is awesome at making sure their products can pair with each other seamlessly as is the case here with the Venture 30's compatibility with Goal Zero Solar Panels.

Durable Charger
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've used this charger now for a few years. It works very well under all conditions. I can usually get 2-3 charges out of it from 0% to 100%. Love the attached charging cables and ease of use.

this is terrible
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is the most overpriced battery charger that i have ever used. I have had it for about a year now and it barely charges my phone once before its dead. You can get 3 anker batteries that will charge the phone multiple times (and they charge about 2x as fast) for the same price as this. The anker batteries will also recharge using goal zero panels.

Will keep you powered
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
On extended trips where your phone is your GPS, Camera, and Emergency notification, its essential that it will always be charged. This is ideal for 3-5 day trips and will fully charge my phone 3 times. I wouldn't leave home without extra power, and Goal Zero as always has done a fabulous job here

Bombproof power
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I love my Goal Zero Venture 30 kit. It has the ability to recharge any electronic device that I may be talking with me quickly and fully. At 7800 mAh, I can get 3 full charges of my phone on one charge of the Venture 30. For most weekend trips I leave the solar panel at home and just take the battery. On longer outings, the solar panel is great at topping off any juice you use out of the battery. A couple of the features that I have found to be really convenient are the Smart Charge feature that allows you to customize the output for each of the two 2.4 amp outputs to get the fastest charge for your specific device and the fact that it is waterproof. While I wouldn't go swimming with it, I never worry about putting it in a separate container or if the rain decides to start while I'm out with it. The built in micro USB cable is a nice addition and works great for everything except Samsung phones with the charging port cover. Due to the way this opens and the direction of the micro USB in the cord, they just don't quite fit. If you own a Galaxy phone you'll probably want to bring a regular cord. Other than that, the Venture 30 has been a perfect companion for all my off grid adventures.

I needed something to keep a Delorme Explorer powered up for a long multi-day run through the High Sierra. I relied very heavily on the Delorme and my iPhone to navigate and communicate with crew. Without the recharge we would have been up that proverbial creek. The Venture 30 was not the lightest recharger I could find, but it was the most durable and weather resistant. It powered each device twice and still had a little juice left over. In all I got 7 days of use of the devices from the power of the Venture 30 with no additional charging to it once we hit the trail. Since the big trip I have found it to be very useful to power everything from headphones, speakers, go pro's and many other things. It is very reliable and handy. I have a Nomad 13 that I have used to recharge the Venture with a few times and that works very well. It was well worth the purchase and will be on every long adventure where a recharge will be needed.
