Overall super camping light

I bought my old school Lighthouse mini (with accessible battery chamber) a few years ago on sale, not expecting much. It has become my go-to light for camping and backpacking. It pops up with a full charge after sitting for 6 months! How is that possible? Amazing little light. Lasts long, and I love the half light option.

Light turns off after 3 seconds. Both of them

I was stupid enough to buy 2 of these lights thinking that they would work

Lighthouse 400

I purchased my Lighthouse 400 about 6 years ago. Went to use it today and couldn't get it to turn off. Other than not turning off it's still works like new. I been very happy with this lantern and was going to purchase 2 new ones. I was going to keep the battery from my old one as a backup after buying the new lanterns. Imagine my surprise finding out on the new ones you can't replace the battery. I really like this little lantern, it's been dropped, kicked and left in the rain but it's still working strong on the original battery. Because of the battery issue I'm looking at other lanterns that have battery replacements. I get that they need to have sales to make a profit but replacing the lantern because the battery went bad is not the way to do it. Considering most batteries last less than 3-4 years that's just wasteful having to replace the complete unit. Because of the battery issue I can no longer recommend this lantern.

For what it is, it's great.

I admit I am a GZ fan. I have 2 Minis with extra batteries. Over the 5+ years of use, I've had no problem with the batteries. I don't even know even know where the extra batteries are. One lite I use every day. The 2nd is for the trailer and while traveling. It's a great little lite.

Just perfect

Living in a senior apartment, we always have power outages at lest 2 times a year. Maybe more dark hallways. Lamination perfect, and light enough to carry and helpful to power up cellphones. Thank you

I have the original and was going to purchase another, but the battery is no longer replaceable. Stupid.

Left light in dishwasher for full cycle.

I have never written a product review before, but this light is amazing. I was repairing my dishwasher and put the light in the dishwasher for me to see. To test that the dishwasher drained, I ran it a full cycle. However, I forgot to take the light out. It was in the dishwasher for the full cycle -- including drying time. IT STILL WORKS. I have also used this product during hurricane and for other work situations. I have aLighthouse 400 as well. Both terrific.

FAILED in design with unreplaceble battery!!

I love my version 1 Lighthouse Minis. I own 2. I also own a decent variety of other goal zero product including three Yetis, multiple light a lifes, other light houses, two different sherpas, and a torch. I own multiple panels and two tripods for older panels. However this proprietary battery and soldiered in battery nonsense is UNACCEPTABLE!! Not only does v1 battery not in production anymore and is completely proprietary but v2 is soldered in and not replaceable at all. Goal Zero, NOBODY wants proprietary unreplaceab garbage! Why garbage? That's what it becomes when the battery finally gives out. "Goal Zero" is absolutely not at all the mission if all the units with failed batteries go in the landfill. Think about that for a moment. You guys severely failed in design or you are flat out gaming the system for more sales! I'm seriously disgusted with this. By the way. You guys realize by manufacturer laws you are to support a product for 7 years beyond discontinuing that product? I work retail for electronics. That's how it works. What is wrong with you people on this one? Goal Zero to the garbage heap once the battery dies. Great business model!

Lighthouse mini battery

Evidently, you cannot replace the battery on the new one. Even on the old one, which advertised a replaceable 18650 battery, the user was required to get a proprietary battery from Goal Zero. Regular, commonly found 18650 batteries would not work. Now that battery is discontinued. It almost appears there is a reluctance to sell a product, once purchased, will not have to be replaced on a regular basis.
